Not the boards fault that he switched to ICL to earn some quick bucks . As a youngster he had this habbit of giving away his wicket after reaching a 50-60 . IPL has made him look good , i dont deny that he is a talent ...but based on his performance he enevr desrved a call up .

As a 17 yr old, scoring 800 runs@60 in a FC season including a double 100 and a 100 in the same match in his debut Ranji season following a brilliant run with the u-19 side, he was very close to being picked for the national side. Hit 177* for u-19 side at the age of 16 in England chasing 304 when we were 135 for 6 to lead the side to a win. Remember those were the times when there was a direct ticket available from the performers in the U-19 squads to the national team - Yuvraj, Kaif, parthiv Patel, Irfan Pathan, DK and later on Suresh Raina all came via that route. He did loose his way partly due to his own temprament and partlydue to ugly politics of Shivlal Yadav and his family who saw his as a threat to the ambition of their son.

He has done enough to earn a call up.
