Everyone contributed in the final : Zaheer with his opening spell, Raina-Yuvi-Kohli in the field during first 10, Yuvi's important blows, Gambhir's innings, Kohli's innings to an extent.

Funny - 'everybody contributed' and 'he won it for us'.........a more sensible evaluation- but that's me - would have been - 'everybody won it for us' AND 'he contributed'. Just because hes there not out at the end - doesn't by any sense of the term lead to 'he wins it for us'.

There have been plenty of matches where we needed even less runs than these and still we lost. I still remember we once lost a close match to Zim, Robin Singh, Srinath, Prasad etc. folded in 3-4 balls. SRT 175 match was similar, Dhoni had got out early in that match, I think, and we lost when we could have easily won, brain farts by Raina, Jadeja, and SRT.

He wanted to play risk free cricket especially on that pitch where it was not easy to hit out and BK, VK, etc. were no where like usual tailenders. They both could bat. Dhoni himself had a huge partnership with BK against Aus in Chennai. Same way, once Vinay had also played a crucial cameo in an ODI win for us. So, Dhoni trusted these guys and then you cannot win a match by farming strike. It was not a test but ODI, you have to take singles but VK and BK could not rotate strike. It is not like Dhoni could not hit before, he could, but there was a chance he could mishit too and one error from Dhoni meant match over for India.
