Manny_Pacquiao Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 clarke, hughes, watson, all not out. 50/50 at best. hotspot isn't even catching the edges. there is absolutely no consistency in its use. a decision that was given out on one day is not out on another. the 'umpire's call' thing is such a crock of ****, basically makes a decision come down to how the umpire 'feels'. the english, who were whining about trott, will now celebrate DRS even tho the whole system is such a joke. umpiring is **** these days, but is there any difference in the accuracy of their decisions and whatever you get from DRS? heres a picture proving what a crock of **** the 'umpire's call' is - the top one is finn, the bottom watson.

Hotspot failed in England-India series 2011, Hawkeye in the SL-Aus series in 2011 and both these technology failed in this game. DRS is a farce.

DRS isn't fool-proof. can't use tech if not fool-proof. 2. improve quality of umpiring instead. hard to argue with either point after seeing DRS screw ups on this tour and on previous ones as well. DRS hasnt empowered umpires, its weakened them. so how does having DRS help when the decisions are still questionable? how is the UMPIRE'S CALL an improvement on just having the umpire make a split second decision?? its easy to say that you can only use it for howlers, but players will always be tempted to review anything they have a strong feeling about in the heat of the moment... here is what dhoni said before the aussie tour:

If marginal decisions dont go your way, its no big deal. Teams should accept that and move on. Hawk eye, Hot spot just complicate the game further, create more controversies and they are not improving decision making.

Did not see anything on hot spot. @manny I thought you cant use snicko as its not part of the official DRS guideline? Only the sky experts are defending it. I was listening to TMS on BBC radio and Aggers (Agnew) and Boycott both said Clarke was not out and the third umpire had fluffed it. This is why i never listen to the sky people. They are chavs. Today i watched skysports online via sky go and had my digital radio on for the commentary.

India-KXIP fan Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Clarke was out. Clear spot from side on where ball passed. He reviewed I guess because I have seen in past the faintest nicks not showing on hot spot, wasn't to be though.
