bulbul Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Great victory in front of many obstacles [3rd Umpire, match referee & opposition fans baying your blood] will be remembered forever in History of cricket. Its not easy to win a match where you conceded a huge first innings lead after reducing opposition for 117/9. Even more is stand your ground when your country needed you even though you get personal abuse is highly admirable & courageous. A special congrats to all the English supporters here in ICF , who patiently, decently supported England against relentless attack of OZombie group. Future generation of ICF members will remember how in one fine Sunday evening [iST] only handful of True cricket supporters posted decently against avalanche of negative posts from opposition side and still survived. Again thanks for proving age old saying of quality matters over quantity Finally for whiner's united , this is only one match still 9 to go you will get your opportunities.
G_B_ Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 why thankyou bulbul. Have to say this blind hatred of england by some of the Indian supporters is disappointing to see. While India will always be number 1 for me. England will always be my second team and i will back them over anybody other than India. The reason being i have been born and raised in England. Its hilarious for me to see people getting agitated over Australia loss when they have no real connection to Aus

Vilander Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 People always want the under dogs to win, its natural. Besides Eng benefited on a few close calls, so the irritation, why all this fuss ?. And there is nothing amusing or suspect about people being fans of different cricket teams in a cricket website..i find it very snobbish of anyone to question people on being fans of the Australian cricket team, they are a good team with certain traits that people associate only with them, true cricket fans can be their fans not withstanding nationality.

I personally have no issues with posters supporting anybody they want. By all means back the undersdogs. But surely you can do that without abusing the opposite team?
WeStMiDz Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 England are not a like-able team it is that simple. A lot is to do with their arrogant media and pundits like Botham who make ridiculous and arrogant predictions.

Imagine someone being so down in life and then these guys come up with such a gritty performance in hopeless situations. England on the other hand cheat and whine. thats why I dont like them
SLICKR392 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 C'mon now G_B, that's unfair. You don't have to live or be connected to a country to support them. The million of soccer fans in India might be living in a fools paradise in that case.
1983-2011 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 english media is arrogant and hypes whether its english football team or cricket team but why hate their 11 players on the field?
WeStMiDz Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 english media is arrogant and hypes whether its english football team or cricket team but why hate their 11 players on the field? Because seeing them lose and then hearing those very same media outlets/pundits eat humble pie is a wonderful thing. Additionally the English XI has a fair few unlikeable characters such as Trott and Broad.

Ultimate_Game Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Congrats England, well played!!! :hatsoff: What a fantastic Test and I hope rest of the series pans out in the same vein though I would prefer umpires to up their game a bit and DRS applied a bit more consistently.
Mark Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 how are we connected to England. they raped our mothers ans sisters and killed our fathers and brothers But I have an alibi . . . I was born in 1973! How about I agree to forgive the Italians for the Roman invasion of Britain and you forgive me for the Raj? :)
