carnish Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Team India departs for Zimbabwe for ODI series A 15-member India squad, led by Virat Kohli, left here this morning for Zimbabwe to take on the hosts in a five-game One-Day International series commencing on July 24. The squad is without inspirational captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who has been given a break by the national selectors. The selectors have also rested three pace bowlers -- Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav -- along with spinner R Ashwin. India are visiting the African nation after three years. In June 2010, an India team led by Suresh Raina took part in a triangular ODI series in Zimbabwe but came a cropper, failing to reach the final. India made amends when they blanked Zimbabwe 2-0 in the Twenty20 series held immediately after the conclusion of the tri-series final won by Lanka. Apart from Raina, Kohli was also part of that squad as vice-captain and it included Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma and Vinay Kumar who are members of the current touring team. http://ibnlive.in.com/news/cricketnext/team-india-departs-for-zimbabwe-for-odi-series/408235-78.html
carnish Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 no practice match? NOOOOO ... Apparently, our selectors think its just ZIMBABWE.

BeautifulGame Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Rohit was the best batsman in the wi series from all three team. Why are people complaining against him now seriously
Sidhoni Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Its Zim, lets experiment Dhawan/Rohit to play last 2s ODI Pujara Rahane Kohli Kartik Rayudu Rassool Mishra Vinay K Ahmed Mohit Yea this looks interesting too.
daryl1985 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Rohit's form as an opener means it is tougher to find a place for Pujara in the team. Number 4 is a bit too low for him, Rohit surely can't be moved having impressed as an opener and it would be unfair on Kohli given his form since establishing himself in the team to make him bat at 4.
Sandeep99 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Rohit Dhawan Pujara Kohli Karthik Raina Jadeja Rassol Mohit Vinay Shami Ahmed Karthik to keep
JaFanatic Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Rohit's form as an opener means it is tougher to find a place for Pujara in the team. Number 4 is a bit too low for him' date=' Rohit surely can't be moved having impressed as an opener and it would be unfair on Kohli given his form since establishing himself in the team to make him bat at 4.[/quote'] what unfair ? your not moving him down to 6 or 7 pujara at 3 and kohli at 4 should be the best middle order from this squad
saneindian Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Rohit Dhawan Kohli Pujara Rayudu DK Jadeja Rasool Shami Mohit Sharma Vinay Kumar 1. No Raina to start with. Get him in only if the batting fails to click in first couple of matches. Ideally should have been rested from the tour. 2. I hope as a captain Kohli doesn't demote himself to accommodate Pujara 3. DK should bat in the lower order and not at 4, can come in early if the start is good and team needs quick runs
vayuu1 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 You just can't take Zimbabwe lightly, brendon taylor is a good talent, you have to be more vary of minnows ,coz they have nothing to lose, since most of our players are unfamiliar with these conditions ,we should be very careful with our statements, never underestimate ur opponent ,is all I can say.
FischerTal Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 i assume conditions in Zim are similar to sa? its gonna swing a bit
vayuu1 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I think the conditions will be similar to south Africa ,so chepu should open along with muchchad,my team would be Chepu Muchchad Rat Tailunt Nephews uncle D K Sir Rasool Shami Mohit Kumar
saneindian Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 i assume conditions in Zim are similar to sa? Ball swings at Harare especially in the 1st innings. Bulawayo is flatter Lack of any practice match could see the team struggle in the 1st ODI. They reached Zim only last evening and will be playing an ODI 36 hours after landing, not enough time for acclimatisation.
SLICKR392 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 for the first ODI 1) Dhawan 2) Rohit 3) Pujara 4) Kohli 5) Karthik 6) Raina 7) Jadeja 8) Rasool 9) Vinay 10) Shami 11) Mohit
