Wasim had to go through so many inquiries. Even they set up a special probe committee. Was not trusted enough i guess ? Did Justice Qayyum absolve him of the allegations.What was the final outcome of that probe, any idea ? The inquiry absolved him by basically saying 'even though we know he is a match fixer there isn't hard evidence to take action'. A few years later Justice Qayum came out and said that Wasim Akram was a match fixer and the only reason he absolved him was because he was a fan of his bowling and did not want him to get banned during the end of his career. He instead gave guidelines to the PCB on how to avoid fixing in the future. Plenty of players Rashid Latif, Aaqib Javed, Basit Ali, Aamer Sohail and many journalists of the time directly accused Wasim Akram of match fixing. He was known to deliberately under perform for money and ask other players to do so too. Other fixers during the 90s were Salim Malik, Ijaz Ahmed, Moin Khan, Mustaq Ahmed. Inzamam, Waqar were possibly involved for a short period too but were not involved for long. Basit Ali and Saeed Anwar did so for one match as well, both felt guilty though and tried to rectify it by telling it to superiors. Saqlain was accused as well but no real evidence was ever put forward other than bowling a bad over at death.

Wth ... how many times we need to tell you guys the So called justice Qyyum report had many flaws. the case is in review again ,,, salim malik files the review petition against this report, becoz (retd) justice Qyyum known to be biased judge. also (retd) justice qyyum is not in pakistan now. he ran away becoz of so many cases against him. police have arrest warrant on him. so we dont give a damn to this report. Innocent until proven guilty .... case closed.

Without their efforts many cricketers from Pakistan as well as our country would have become role models instead of being fined and banned.Well done to PCB and BCCI.There are some good things which PCB and BCCI have done and we have to acknowledge their efforts in trying to reduce fixing in cricket.
