Bhuvneshwar Kumar vs Wasim Akram in ODIs

Both are swing bowlers one is a legend of the game and the other had a promosing start to his career. Wasim has a stupendous stat in ODIs averaging 23.52 at a sr of 36.2 with an icredible er of 3.89. Bhuvi on the other hand even though playing in an era of batsmen's pitch managed to impress everyone. All he needs atm is a partner who can support him with some attacking bowling in the absence of Aaron still he is proving to be a regular striker. Interestingly he has the best average among the current Asian bowlers. An average of 21.96 @33.1 is a good stat for any fast bowler and like Wasim his er is also under 4 @3.97 an over! wasim akram was arguably the BEST limited over bowler in history. Bhuv Kumar will come no-where close to wasim. Huge question mark on whether BK will be able to maintain his fitness, especially during an era where he has to play what 100 matches per year. But the lad has certainly got talent so not to be suprised even if he surpasses wasim

What many who only started watching at around 1998/9 don't realise is that Wasim was very quick in the early 90s. I think it's unfair to compare Bhuvi to Wasim. Bhuvi will be a fine bowler. His aim should be to perform really well in SA and England tests. Especially England where it will swing and also there's five tests and India need to take wickets to be competitive.

Wasim was the perfect fast bowler. He maynot have the stats of a Mashall, Ambrose or McGrath but he had everything in a bowler: ability to bowl long spells ( due to his short runup), skiddy pace due to his quick arm action, could make the ball move both ways, sometimes in the same delivery, a seriously nasty bouncer and a domination of left handers that is rare. having seen him his whole career, i cant help feel that he under achieved somewhat, man should've had 500+ wickets in tests, not barely over 400.
