Hollywood is set to release a remake of the Korean cult hit "Oldboy". Going by all the previous remakes/reinterpretations they have messed up, I am not holding my breath. I am hoping this would be different. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrLcnrnEqyI]OLDBOY Trailer (Spike Lee - 2013) - YouTube[/ame] Must say, I have immersed myself in Korean culture since my visit there. That place seems to have left a greater impression on me than I have previously given it credit for.

Clearly an attempt to get oscars. Most Spike lee's movies are award baits and the lead actor, Josh Brolin, closely missed out oscar. Expect over use of method acting and too much angst in the movie.

^ Already added to my list. Thank you
I have been to the real life Joint Security Area - i.e. the border between North and South Korea - and wow, words fail me. Its nothing short of an absolute tragedy what happened there. They talk about reunification in a positive sense but from what I gather, it seems to be more of an economical issue than a social issue. I took this picture in Seoul some time back: yxhj.jpg

Amazing dude :icflove: I can feel the thrill you might have experianced while standing there. It's also amazing while looking at both sides and the countries. :hatsoff: I suggest you to watch another movie with similar premise called, "No Man's land". You might have guessed what's the story anyways :giggle:

Look inside? I went inside the building and technically entered North Korean territory. As you can see, the building crosses the wooden plank that separate the two Koreas. Do a thread search under my name, I did a write up about my trip.

By the way, the Joint Security Area is the second picture of mine you quoted. It is incredibly difficult to get there but totally worth the effort if you manage to succeed.
Sure, I will look into that thread :two_thumbs_up:
