True But in the golden aussie era when they dominated. Loads of players unlucky that born in that era. Bevan, Mcgill and loads more No doubt similar story for quite a few windies guys when they dominated for yonks

Well Tendulkar was unfortunate in a sense that when he was at peak of his powers in mid 90's, India didn't play much of test criket rather preferred meaning ODI's tri-series'. If I recall correctly in 95 indian played just 3 test matches against NZ at home and all three of these were badly affected by rain. in 94 also we played 3 against SL at home and 3 against WI. we started playing a lot more test cricket after 98-99 I believe.

A lot of people forget to mention the SA team of the 70s which missed out due to apartheid.

No not made fun of them at all. Just said that I thought a certain poster was a guju from kenya:giggle: But yes I am a racist. Otherwise I would have been ATG as well

Yeah in that i do not recall anytime that i have been watching cricket over the years us not backing a specialist spinner averaging more than 4.5 wickets a test match.
Fair point, he is slightly under-appreciated, i think he may lose his test place to Jadeja in the future. Needs to work on his fitness though.

No Dravid/Ganguly during that time, so he might have came out good, had we played a bit more tests.
