FischerTal Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 for the first ODI 1) Dhawan 2) Rohit 3) Pujara 4) Kohli 5) Karthik 6) Raina 7) Jadeja 8) Rasool 9) Vinay 10) Shami 11) Mohit
BeautifulGame Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Kohli is probably or greatest no.3 in ODIs already. Not sure we should shift him in the batting order from his best position.I would play Pujara at no.4 and Play Unadkad maybe instead of Mohit.Looked a decent death bowler in IPL Rohit Dhawan Kohli Pujara Karthick Raina Jadeja Rasool Vinay Unadkat Shami
G_B_ Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 What india should aim to do is win the series and then give everybody else a chance in the remaining games. If india are 3-0 ahead i would rest Dhawan/ Rohit and bring in Rahane as opener. While i will also play Mohit

Austin 3:!6 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 the only reason i said pujara at number 3 is because kohli is good at any position... Kohli must be at 3...your best batsman should bat at top 3 in ODI's. Pujara ideally should play an an opener...but I have got doubt on his one day game credentials.
JaFanatic Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 the only reason i said pujara at number 3 is because kohli is good at any position... i am with you on this kohli's avg is better at no.4 we dont know if pujara can accelerate better than kohli in ODIs. with strong batting technique chintu at 3 and kohli at 4 seems ideal atm
Sidhoni Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Agree with OP except Kohli at 3 and Pujara at 4 IMO
Lord Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I'd open with Pujara Pujara Dhawan Kohli Rohit Raina Karthik Jadeja Rassool VK Shami Mohit
JaFanatic Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 i give 60 marks for selectors for this squad :bigboss:
FischerTal Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 I'd open with Pujara Pujara Dhawan Kohli Rohit Raina Karthik Jadeja Rassool VK Shami Mohit not gonna happen.... for now :wizard:
Sooda Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Its Zim, lets experiment Dhawan/Rohit to play last 2s ODI Pujara Rahane Kohli Kartik Rayudu Rassool Mishra Vinay K Ahmed Mohit
adi B Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 agree with chepu,kohli is a good player,he can bat @4
Bleed-Blue Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Dhawan Pujara Rahane Kohli Rohit Rayudu(wk) SIR Jadeja Rassool Mishra Ahmed Mohit
JaFanatic Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Selectors should stop making stupid decisions like picking a player for ODI on the basis of his first class performance dont know whats the point of all those List A matches when we dont pick the players doing well in this format. they are not even considering players like Jadhav, Jaggi etc for A tours instead they are going for Rahanes and Rohits who are scoring tons of runs in a different format altogether

JaFanatic Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Both Jaggi and Jadhav Ave. Over 50 in List A Matches wheras Rohit And Rahane Ave. in the 30's there may be few more players whom we do not know and the worst part is we fans start to right off these Rohits and Rahanes for failing in ODIs and never want to see them in tests too the format which got them the recognition
Sooda Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 To be fair though Rahane did have a decent IPL and has flickered in ODIs. Rohit has proven himself in ODIs now. The thing with good 'longer format' players is that they can adapt to Ltd overs cricket. The other way round does not work though. Do agree that Rohit should have played a few tests by now. The selectors missed a trick by not selecting a few good Ltd overs players for the tri series in SA with the A team. Instead we have Rohit and Raina playing one day A team cricket which is ridiculous
