SLICKR392 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 and GG has raised the bar by giving gaali to dravid No one so far has shown me that part in the video where he 'abused' Dravid. As usual its easy to make up stuffs. He denied it personally as well.

jj_28 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Keep Rohit as an opener and make Gambhir earn his way into the squad. Gambhir should perform well domestically and then on the A tours to earn his place back into the team Players who are on form should be rewarded not player who were great in the past and Gambhir was a great player in the past
Cricketics Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 'When a player is down, people try to just put him even more down and start talking trash about him.' - Cricketics :hatsoff: Here is some history. When Gambhir rose to the occasion. His golden days had started. India's golden days had started too. http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=88553
SLICKR392 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 This was discussed before. Apart from throwing down allegations, no one had any valid statements. He was talking to the umpire and Dravid was behind him. He din't turn around like he did with that scum Bisla, but just kept walking and it was the umpire who chatted with GG. 'Tics is spot on there. When one is out & down, everything is turned against them.

He surely does deserve to be in Team India but he needs to respect the 'Gentlemens Game' and play like a gentleman. He is an amazing player, But he should learn how to turn his aggressive nature to power by sourav ganguly :P

Well, Aussies do it too and its a man's game, I don't really mind it. :winky: One of the reasons I'm his fan apart from his batting.
maniac Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Gambhir is a clutch player-Probably one of the best big game players of recent times. Not putting down Dhoni but Gambhir is marginally a better big game player than Dhoni,
maniac Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 ^ Yeessss - as if there ever was the slightest of doubts :). You will be surprised ,how many disagreements that statement might get
Austin 3:!6 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Gambhir is a clutch player-Probably one of the best big game players of recent times. Not putting down Dhoni but Gambhir is marginally a better big game player than Dhoni, No he is not. He is a good player...but not as much as Dhoni. His WC final knock was already surpassed by the knock of MSD.
maniac Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 No he is not. He is a good player...but not as much as Dhoni. His WC final knock was already surpassed by the knock of MSD. This is what I am talking about......The situation that Gambhir was in was comparitvely more difficult than Dhoni's situation. As people have said, his knock was the 3rd best knock in the final behind Gambhir and Lady. Have you forgotten 2007 Wc and that too against Pak. Dhoni overhadows because he played some important knocks in some useless tournaments against Loins. Not wrting him off,we are blessed to have a player like him,but Gambo is better.
BeautifulGame Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Dhoni really needs to think harder' date=' Should he keep powerful, experienced and loyal players like viru and gauti or crap youngsters like murali vijay[/quote'] Vijay has scored as many centuries in 1 series that Gambhir and Sehwag could combined manage in nearly 3 years.
Cricketics Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Dhoni is a gun finisher who has potential to hit 15-20 runs in an over and win the game for India. Gambhir is someone you can rely on all conditions to win you a game when we are chasing 280+ in extreme amount of pressure. Though you know what, I don't feel like drawing a comnparison here. I mean dhoni himself has been so good in chases that I think as an Indian fan, we shouldn't even be comparing these guys. Let's just rest the case.
SLICKR392 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 No he is not. He is a good player...but not as much as Dhoni. His WC final knock was already surpassed by the knock of MSD. I agree Dhoni's a better ODI player but GG was robbed from the MOTM in the WC final. Him or India wouldn't really care about it but that was a bloody GUN of a knock. 3 down and fought on till the end and upped the ante when the Req.RR was slipping away. He went slow when Dhoni got in and unpacked his blitz. Dhoni was probably the needle of that innings but it was the thread who sewed it together and kept us alive in the game, which was Gambhir.

Dhoni's was the easily the better knock at a far superior SR to Gambhir.Upped the SR when Gambhir was stuggling to keep of the pressure and carried India after Gambhir once again typically choked. At the end of 30th over the Req Run Rate was well above 6 an over with us still needing 125 runs. After that Gambhir scored 21 from 28 balls and Dhoni scored 79 from 58 balls.

Haarkarjeetgaye Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 in shudh indian language it will be, danda ( bar ) aur andar ghusa diya

What do you mean by that? 2 different scenarios, when Dhoni came in he had a relatively well-settled partner at the other end. When Gambhir was playing he lost 2 senior partners for next to nothing and he tried to steady ship with a relative rookie. Where did I say Dhoni's innings was poor in the context Gambhir's innings was superior. Don't look at S/R and R/R.20 overs taking it close enough was more important as we had enough power-hitters to follow.
maniac Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 T20 WC against Pak+wc2011 finals>>>>>>Wc 2011 finals+inconsequential tournament against Loins
