diga Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Election Commission's Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has rejected three short advertisement films submitted by Congress after finding that they made direct attacks on BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). According to sources in Delhi's Chief Electoral Office, Congress had submitted CDs of four short films and a radio jingle to MCMC for approval on Friday. But the committee gave its nod to only one of the short films along with the radio jingle, rejecting the rest of the films for making direct attacks on BJP and AAP. One of the rejected films is titled, 'Woh sapne dikhate hain, hum karke dikhate hain'. The film features two persons named 'Vijay' and 'Arvind'. While one of them is shown wearing an AAP cap, the other dons the BJP scarf and they are discussing electricity bills in the film. The film shows what is supposed to be an AAP worker talking about electricity rates in Delhi and a BJP member discussing electricity rates in the states where the party is in power. Both characters agree that electricity rates in Delhi were cheaper than that in other states. Finally, acknowledging the above, both the BJP and AAP worker put on Congress scarves. "We have rejected three films as they have tried to project that BJP and AAP were working together and, in some of the films, even personal names have been used," a senior official said. MCMC, headed by Neeraj Bharti, the Additional Chief Electoral Officer, has asked Congress to change the contents of the films. MCMC keeps a watch on election-related news and features appearing in the print and electronic media ahead of Polls.

diga Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 The highly sensitive Naxal-affected assembly constituencies of Dantewada and Bastar in Chhattisgarh registered high polling today with 67 percent and 60 percent of voting respectively. Jagdalpur also recorded 67 percent polling while saw 40 percent turnout in the first phase of polling in the state. According to the Chhattisgarh Election Office, Kanker registered 76 percent voting while Konda had 78 percent of polling. “There was 62 percent polling in Narainpur and 78 perecnt in Khudji,†Raju Sahoo, a poll official told Firstpost from Raipur. Chhattisgarh saw 67 percent polling in its first phase. The second phase of polling is on 19 November and the counting of votes on 8 December. not bad .. 67% despite Naxal threats

The elections are a big test for the Congress and four crore electors will decide the fate of the 2,087 candidates, including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and BJP chief ministerial candidate Vasundhara Raje, for 199 Assembly seats. :hatsoff:

Really wish aap n bjp come together post polling, we can do with more n more good people coming together.

The turnout was 74.38 per cent, the highest-ever in the desert state, the Election Commission said. :hatsoff: wow more & more people are exercising their franchise.. hope this continues
