Fontaine Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Ishant is going though:giggle: Ishant as the 3rd seamer is average because at least he can bowl to a field and contain runs. But if he's going to used and counted on as the new ball/strike bowler then god help us.

Jersey #10 Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Bowling is the biggest issue here. I don't think we can take 20 wickets in SA without Zak
CG Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Bowling is the biggest issue here. I don't think we can take 20 wickets in SA without Zak We will manage to take 20 wickets we always have if batsman can score enough runs on those pitches.on Last away tours to eng and aus our batting failed us even with a good attack if u do not score 300+ its difficult to win matches .Sa will provide some fast tracks and if we bat and put some runs we will give a good fight.
Fontaine Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 all our pacers should be strike bowlers and look for wicket in those conditions. It the spinner's job to contain if needed I completely agree with you. But when was the last time we had three fast bowlers who were also strike bowlers? I would love to have a fit Zaheer Khan, Yadav, and a more seasoned Bhuvneshwar but we don't even two of those three, so Ishant will end up making the trip simply because he's fit, and most experienced outside of Zaheer.
Trichromatic Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Batting. It was batting which let us down in last two away tours. Pitches were not minefield as our batsmen made it look like. Our bowlers always rely on competitive scores by our batsmen. If they can't do their job, then it would be very difficult for our bowlers. We just need to stay in the game with good batting display. SA will always give bowlers a chance to take 20 wickets for low scores.
Trichromatic Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Bowling is the biggest issue here. I don't think we can take 20 wickets in SA without Zak Lords first test, Trent Bridge 2nd test - batsmen spilled the advantage we could have got.
Vilander Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 3-0 or what ever number of tests - 0 is coming up. I think our batting lineup baring Pujara are either not skilled enough or don't have the temperament or are old and infirm. Steyn/Morkel/Philander will decimate us..no kidding. And our bowling is not so good that we can do the same to their remarkable batting lineup..
