Great stats Asim. This confirms Pak fan claims that Umar Akmal is seriously underrated. Also your stats are not completely fair because you have included Sachin home games on dead pattas as well compare to Umar only away games. @Clark: I have never seen any video of Waqar where he bowled consistently over 90mph and even requested for any such videos but none of you guys managed to post that. He was a mid to high 130k bowler with some occassionally 140s same as that of Vinny legend Kumar but he was quicker through the air unlike the legend.

i have never seen him bowl sadly atleast not in prime and statistically he is just awesome during that period...jsut how quick was he compared to modern quicks like brett lee and tait? not tlaking about skill but speed only

That's a debate in itself since speed guns weren't the norm, but when I first talked about cricket around 20 yrs back, phassstt generally brought up two names among the then current players, Donald & Waqar.

Donald wasn't like Steyn, he was ferociously quick. He worked with raw pace and made many a solid batsman jump on flat tracks without any movement off the wicket. Edit: Realised this thread was about SRT, so there is a famous dismissal where he's beaten for pace against white lightning. That's enough reason to declare he made other fast bowlers look not so fast :)

I don't think so a lot of Indians like me have watched a lot of Waqar Younis at his fastest,Hence the bias. Donald in a heartbeat I would say,he was express. Waqar was not part of the 92 WC squad and India obviously didn't play Pak a lot in the 90's and in the early 90's especially the time when Waqar was supposed to be at his fastest,there wasn't as much coverage of cricket not including India. Apart from the odd Sharjah game,the first real glimpse of Waqar and beleive me I am not biased when I say this was during the famous 96 Q.F game. Clarke can you tell me a series before the 96 Q.F where you consistently saw Waqar bowl and be unplayable and Fast? There might have been the odd Sharjah game and the Eng series where Pak were definetely a better team but everytime I saw them bowl together,I thought Wasim was more threatening(and this has nothing to do with the Sterotype of Indian love for Wasim),I kinda hated him more back then :giggle:
