G_B_ Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Rajasthan Royals batsman Brad Hodge will not be fit for the Champions League T20 final on Sunday, the Royals coach Paddy Upton has told ESPNcricinfo. Hodge had injured his knee during the semi-final against Chennai Super Kings last evening in Jaipur. Hodge had collided with Shane Watson, whose head hit Hodge's knee, at point during the final over of Chennai Super Kings' chase and had to go off the field. Shaun Tait, the Australian fast bowler, is the only overseas player available on the Royals bench. http://www.espncricinfo.com/champions-league-twenty20-2013/content/story/676893.html?CMP=chrome huge blow IMO and poor planning from RR not to have an international back up batsman. Rather than playing Tait IMO i will play 3 foreign players and add Maneria.

Sidhoni Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Menaria is in great form but he has always been underused under Dravid at RR
G_B_ Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 Owais Shah could have been picked. yup The batting is an issue for the royals. I think thus far Rahane has been carrying them a bit in this tournament with Watson and Hodge providing the hard hitting when needed. On the issue of Maneria. I thought he would blossom in this tournament. Seemed in sensational form for the A matches with bat and ball. Is one of the rare cases of a young talent not living upto expectations at RR In any case Tait on the slow delhi pitch is a no no IMO. Kevon Cooper might have been smashed but his sort of slow bowling will suit the Kotla pitch. Maneria as well should be picked as a frontline spinner on that pitch. Watson Rahane Samson Dravid Menaria Binny Yagnik Faulkner Cooper Shukla/Malik Tambe Dravid should drop down to 4. Every time RR have a slow start as he eats up balls and sucks the momentum. Watson should open. He opens for Aus and a quickfire 30 is whats needed. Not too sure Shukla will suit the Kotla pitch. Probably RR will miss Trivedi. Though they can use Binny.

SLICKR392 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Menaria is in great form but he has always been underused under Dravid at RR Because he has barely performed for RR.
