G_B_ Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Dont know about hindi commentary, but Gavaskar really ripped into Vinay today
VRV Singh Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Maybe Ravi and Sunny and Harsha have been told to dumb things down for the people who are not cricket nuts. Why do we all assume that everybody who watches the cricket has a good knowledge about the game? Agree with you there. Without LSRK's evaluation of shot elevation and distances many would be lost.
King Tendulkar Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Dont know about hindi commentary' date=' but Gavaskar really ripped into Vinay today[/quote'] no he didnt. merely said a few times that all bowlers bowled a bit short. thats it. did not rip in to vinnay at all, you dreamed that
Lord Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Shastri and Ganguly are such duds - not a word against the Australian bowlers' date=' only praising the Indian batsmen. :headshake:[/quote'] Australian bowlers dont get regularly hammered like Vinay and Ishant,it was more good batting and hence the praise.
saneindian Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Writing in his column for Times of India, Shastri expressed, “Rohit Sharma is at times too fanciful. He is not converting his starts. His shot selection has to tighten especially in a chase.” About Raina, Shastri wrote, “A 30-40 would not do for Suresh Raina. He needs to step up.” Shastri also expressed a few concerns over India’s bowling and wrote that Yuvraj Singh should bowl more overs than he did during the first ODI. But, he is optimistic about some other developments. He wrote, “Fortunately Zaheer Khan is ready to return. Jaydev Unadkat has caught the eye. Amit Mishra, the perennial waiting man, is in the wings too. Indians have options to mix and match.” Shastri also said that one shouldn’t rule out Harbhajan Singh from the limited-overs games. http://www.cricketcountry.com/cricket-articles/Rohit-Sharma-Suresh-Raina-need-big-scores-says-Ravi-Shastri/32211 Shastri's written about selection issues. :)
Crookbond Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Australian bowlers dont get regularly hammered like Vinay and Ishant' date='it was more good batting and hence the praise.[/quote'] It was a live match not a chapter in "How Australians are Great Bowlers". Poor bowling should be critiqued irrespective of what the bowlers or their grand fathers bowled prior to the game.

What more do you want him to do? get a tattoo on his chest reading "Vinay Kumar should be shot down for good"
Lord Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 It was a live match not a chapter in "How Australians are Great Bowlers". Poor bowling should be critiqued irrespective of what the bowlers or their grand fathers bowled prior to the game. But this indeed was just great batting coupled with the pitch.I dont think they bowled that badly. If you Scarves'post in the match thread, you'll know that even the Aussie commies on FoxSports didn't criticise their bowling that much.just appreciated the batting And anyway why should Indian commies worry about others in an Indian game specially when they are winning. Most want to know how Indian players are doing
Soorma_Bhopali Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Today shastri did mention in the innings break that India are missing umesh yadav's pace ..he implied in his words that umesh softens up the batsmen with his pace and that's why bhuvi was getting so many wickets at the start ..right now ,all India seamers have same late 120s/early 130 speeds ..

CG Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 dont let the facts get into the way of the haters. @KT well he was ripping into Vinny for bowling short. What more do you want him to do? get a tattoo on his chest reading "Vinay Kumar should be shot down for good" If u remember the old shastri of 2000s he was one of the best commentators in the world due to being neutral and he put forward his views .
Unleashed Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I really don't mind Harsha actually. He's ok. Shastri is really an idiot, he's cringeworthy. They've also silenced Ganguly too. I remember when Dada started commentary, he used to be quite critical of Dhoni and our team matters and was no holds barred. Now he's suddenly being more moderate in his views.
G_B_ Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 ^ to be fair the old ganguly was extreme in his views. In a way yesterdays match allowed me to appriciate the job MSD does in the limtied overs at least. Constantly juggling **** bowlers. In comparison Bailey sucked

In comparison Bailey sucked Well when u loose to england in india u got to be extreme.Bailey had a plan and he stuck to it he saved mitch for raina, yuvi which was a mistake by taking mitch off when he bowling well.Aus have a plan they have faulknar as their death bowler so he comes on last.In india we just do things on the middle.
Sachinism Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 http://www.cricketcountry.com/cricket-articles/Rohit-Sharma-Suresh-Raina-need-big-scores-says-Ravi-Shastri/32211 Shastri's written about selection issues. :) That's not real being critical of any selections. A whole bunch of words, but hasn't really said much, pretty much like his commentary

Well we have been doing well in odis u cannot criticize just for sake of it.
rkt.india Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 You are delusional. Sunny and Shastri are paid handsomley by BCCI . Yes they are paid by them. Do you deny ravi and sunny are on pay books of BCCI? Srini is their boss. Do you think they are paid to criticisie their boss? No they are paid to peddle their propoganda. Want evidence, see how they both rushed to defend srini recently, seriously made me cringe. No, they are not. They were once 2 years back, but not any more.
Sachinism Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 No' date=' they are not. They were once 2 years back, but not any more.[/quote'] So you accept, they're sell outs who's words should be taken with a fistful of salt?
