I saw him bowling much faster in the champions league t20 than i saw him bowl in the ODIs. In the champions trophy he was easily touching 140. So what gives?

Even now he can bowl entire overs between 135 to 140 k. Have you seen Dhawal bowl in the last 18 months.? He has added atleast 7 to 10 k. Now he bowls a lively pace with quite a bit of bounce. Nechim again touches 145 k sometimes. Gony, Awana and Kaul ate fast-medium too , most of the times.

The list of 135 + bowlers was an answer to how many 135 k + pacers we have. All of them are not very good. Nevertheless, they have to be included in the list of fast medium pacers.

Actually IPL speed guns give similar readings to international tournament speed guns. The domestic speed gun readings are often 5 k or so lesser. Shami, who bowls 135 to 141 k in internationals, bowl 128 to 136 k in domestics. Vinay was also clocking much lesser in the challenger trophy than in this series. We have seen Nehra and Awana play internationals recently. Awana was clocking 135 to 143 k. He is surely not 130 k unless in domestics. We all know Nehra's pace, definitely not 130k.

We may select hazar young bowlers but on such tracks, each one of them will lose their confidence after being thrashed which will invariably happen. Take the example of Bhuvi. Has bowled quite well, yet after 3 matches he has 1 wicket and a bowling avg of 145. Or Jadeja, bowled decently, has 2 wickets @69. A couple of months down the line, if at all they are struggling for form, no one will remember the conditions they bowled in. These same numbers would be held against them for criticism. That is how it goes.

Got noticed, was picked for India A, couldn't do well which suggests he's not yet ready and will need more FC experience. Was bowling 132-133 in the DT final in a short spell with the top speed of 138.

That is how it goes. That won't happen because most people find low scoring ODI games boring and prefer watching a lot of action - 4s, 6s, centuries and lots of runs being scored. As it is, interest in 50 over format is dwindling, there is no way BCCI will prepare tracks which will assist bowlers.

Those sort of pitches good bowling is rewarded and bad bowling is punished. To be fair the Pune pitch in which Australia skittles us out for 238 had something in it for good bowling. Same was the case with Mohali. So this series Jaipur aside has not been on super play pitches. A 300 pitch in an era of 4 fielders outside the circle and power plays is a normal 270-280 pitch with the old rules.

Not all of them are ready for international cricket yet. Some never will be. Regarding the pacers who are ready now, I would pick Dhawal and Pankaj. The best potential I think is Pawan Suyal.

Ishwar will be high on the selector's list with his impressive show on SA A tour. Pankaj's is a tragic case. How I wish some selector some day explained why he isn't even being picked for A tours. Suyal has to play an entire season. Get fitter and slightly more agile. His fielding is an embarrassment right now.

We often see with India quicker bowlers that they don't seem to have any aim and go about doing random things. Suyal seems to be just the opposite and that is why I would like to have him groomed for playing for our country. Fielding can be made reasonably ok.

He is again not getting his bowling action right, left hand falling too early in an attempt to bowl outswing, might be trying something else.
