Are we selecting too many under 135 k pacers ?

Still we are living in some other world if we dont know what is standard of world class in fast bowling. If not Indian selectors, then at least Indian fans shud be unanimous in their expectaions / preferences from fast bowlers. Instead there are still takers of the Indian theory that bowl line n length to create pressure n pressure will bring wickets and Dhobi is a great proponent of that theory. only thing is somehow these people go into a brain freeze, turn blind or start making excuses when these line n length medium pacers become fodder for batsmen instead of creating pressure. there shud be a protest outside dhoni's house on Stop playing uselss trundlers, we want fast bowlers in the team. Not to get into conspiracy theory here, but I really think its dhoni who is to blame for believing in trundlers more than the selectors. The indian captain has a great say in selections whether it be ganguly or dhoni, selectors cant do much if captain wants particular bowlers in the team. I say this also becoz selectros gave dhoni at least Shami ahmed,, but captain selects playing 11 and he just didnt select Shami for 1st 3 games and also Amit mishra who is in good form, even othough the bowlers he played are not looking like they r bowling well at all.
In a recent interview, Mohit Sharma's coach had claimed that he is actually a fast bowler and bowled slower for CSK because Dhoni and the team management told him to for the sake of accuracy. Search this forum and you would find the interview.

Mohit Sharma is a fast bowler? Ian Pont has always talked of him as a seam and swing bowler and not as a quick pacer. I hope this time Star Sports shows at least one live match involving Rahul Shukla, Anwar Ahmed, Pawan Suyal etc to see how good they can bowl in FC cricket

I am just saying that his coach has claimed this. He looks fast medium to me. One thing is noticeable though. In domestic matches, Mohit hits the deck harder and relies on bounce and zip off the pitch much more than he does in internationals or the IPL.

Suyal has 2 5fers' date=' 4 4-fers and 1 10-fer in 13 FC matches with a hattrick to his name, must have done something right.[/quote'] Suyal has a good average too in FC. He looks like a very objective bowler to me.

objective bowler?
A bowler who tries to bowl to a plan and has an objective in mind while bowling. Some bowlers just mechanically go through the motions like Ishant. They are the non objective bowlers.
