Yes they should have but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ BCCI wants power and money. other have to settle for just money BCCI have been pathetic here. What ever problem they have with lorgat should not disrupt the teams actually paying each other!!

G_B_ Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 In a way i dont blame the CSA for bending over. Its very easy for fans to say. They should stand up to xyz. Loss of revenue means somebody (usually at the lower end) losing their job. That means there is a big question mark on them feeding their families. So revenues do matter. I read that the CSA have a 100 million rand program to push cricket in the black townships which is a hit and they have hired 100-200 coaches. Clearly that program would have to be axed and those 100-200 people would be out of a job. Your not talking about mutli millionaires. One thing which does emerge from all this is that CSA need to generate more revenue internally. Its hard yes with football being number 1 and rugby union being number 2, but they need to come to a point via increasing ticket prices etc whereby they actually are able to raise about 50-60 million USD. Based on what i read about their finances, they just spent like no tomorrow and hope that the Indian tour would cover all their losses. @KT CSA earns about 1-2 million USD from their players in the IPL. 10% of IPL players goes into the hands of the boards. Kallis ABD and Steyn are well paid in the IPL. With others like Miller etc also earning well that move will further screw their finances. If anything from what i know boards like the WI and SL board hope as many players end up in the IPL so that they can get 10% revenue. The freaking Aussie board is earning 3-4 million based on the IPL.

He surely seems to have done a lot many things with a few other boards as well for many of them to not like him. Cant be BCCI's fault alone. Poor guy was accused of being a BCCI stooge out to destroy Pak cricket during the spot fixing saga

All that has happened is Srini and BCCI have bullied and won some power game. The indian fan though has won zilch, so would some india fans here stop beating their chest like something great has happened Desperatley wanted at least a 3 test series, Gutted

Might as well not go and plan for later to have a proper 3 or 4 match series. I do not think it is bad as we have a young bunch of players. Even SA usually play only 2 tests in India.
adi B Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 2 test series is short but cant complain much considering how pathetic this team performed abroad,3 tests would have been perfect..3-4 test match series are played when teams are equally matched but when the balance points heavily towards one side,a 4-5 match test series becomes overkill..

Not sure abt SA. It depends on the other sports during that season.

Typical BCCI winning some fans after doing little bit of work and doing 90% of damage.
