Because Finn was struggling, it does mean Rahane did not struggle. I only said he struggled big time then. He did not get to face any genuine pacer in NZ in ODIs. He did well in SA against pace in tests but ODIs are a completely different thing.

And, anyhow your earlier theory was that he would struggle in tests as well, which did not work out very well.

Look at how many times he has been dismissed by pace bowler early on. Finn exposed him in return ODI series at home. He struggled against him big time. My theory was that he used to have minimum front foot movement in ODIs which lead to his downfall on several occasions against pacers and then I had said if he played like that in tests too, he will struggle, but he proved that assessment wrong and there is no shame accepting that. I loved the way he batted in SA and NZ in test matches because inside I wanted him to succeed, the reason I opened a jinx thread for him after Delhi test :winky: but he is yet to decode batting in ODIs, especially against pacers.

It has nothing to do with pace bowling. He is unable to rotate the strike and play with soft hands. That is an adjustment issue and not a struggle against pace.

World cricket chiefs, hoping to spread the game to newer pastures through Twenty20, have expanded the upcoming tournament to 16 teams from 12 two years ago and introduced a new format. Six qualifiers -- Ireland, Afghanistan, Nepal, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands -- will join Zimbabwe and hosts Bangladesh in a preliminary league of two groups from March 16 to 21. Australia, seeking to win their maiden World T20 title, have debunked the theory that T20 is a young man's game by including middle-order batsman Brad Hodge, 39, and 43-year-old spinner Brad Hogg in their squad. The tournament, which runs until April 6, will be played under heavy security after election violence at the turn of the year raised fears that Bangladesh's biggest sporting event could be moved elsewhere. Bangladesh, which co-hosted the 2011 50-over World Cup with India and Sri Lanka, will stage matches in the capital Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet. But plans to host games in the holiday resort of Cox's Bazaar were ruled out after building work on a new stadium fell behind schedule. Organisers will be praying that Bangladesh defeat the dangerous Afghanistan in Sunday's tournament opener in Dhaka because an early exit for the hosts could seriously affect interest in the tournament. Afghanistan, who will play their third World T20 and have also qualified for a maiden appearance in the 50-over World Cup next year, stunned the hosts in the recent Asia Cup. Getting bowled through the gate on straight deliveries, getting late by not moving front foot is certainly struggle against pace. He certainly improved a bit now on this aspect but it was there when I had said that he does not move his front foot enough.

His working hard and improvements have not yet shown up in odis and I doubt they will show up in T-20s either. nos 1,3, 4, 5 and 6 are taken on this t-20 team so it is between nohit and this guy for one slot.
