Old guy Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 http://ibnlive.in.com/news/cricketnext/cab-gags-eden-curator-prabir-mukherjee/431457-78.html so what do we think? looks like it will have something in it for the bowlers upfront, but as the curator says should have even bounce for strokemaking. bat second me thinks if ishant is playing then its better to bat first so spinners can do something in last inning :giggle:
FischerTal Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Eden has a reputation for spinning crazy as feck on day 5. Bat first. I wanna see a chepu double hundred :whine:
mishra Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Haters Gonna hate:yay:. Pacer Ishant is only behind Kapil Paaji and Srinath to have have represented India in more than 50 matches.
rkt.india Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Haters Gonna hate:yay:. Pacer Ishant is only behind Kapil Paaji and Srinath to have have represented India in more than 50 matches. Zaheer.
mishra Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Zaheer. :(( I wasnt aware that Zak has played so many games. I thought Srinath was second and Ishant will outnumber Srinath. Please make 15 more tests
NareshK Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Have to feel a bit for batsmen who bat before Sachin - Vijay, Dhawan, Pujara. Crowd will be rooting for them to get out to watch Sachin bat.:cantstop: Same thing happened in Ind-Aus test series.
NareshK Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 http://ibnlive.in.com/news/cricketnext/cab-gags-eden-curator-prabir-mukherjee/431457-78.html so what do we think? looks like it will have something in it for the bowlers upfront, but as the curator says should have even bounce for strokemaking. bat second me thinks Going by the way pitches at Eden Gardens have played recently, I would say it will be good for batting for first couple of days, then will help spinners.
rkt.india Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Going by the way pitches at Eden Gardens have played recently' date=' I would say it will be good for batting for first couple of days, then will help spinners.[/quote'] It looks so different than whitish the dry pitches we see in IPL made for KKR which starts turning from ball one. It looks to have red hue.
G_B_ Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 its a digrace that Ishant sharma is the fourth most capped Indian pacer.
G_B_ Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 @rkt it would say it has a greenish tinge in the middle and is barren when the ball is pitched up near the stumps. back the the length the key IMO
rkt.india Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 @rkt it would say it has a greenish tinge in the middle and is barren when the ball is pitched up near the stumps. back the the length the key IMO yeah. Pacers might get something they bend their backs.
adi B Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 http://ibnlive.in.com/news/cricketnext/cab-gags-eden-curator-prabir-mukherjee/431457-78.html so what do we think? looks like it will have something in it for the bowlers upfront, but as the curator says should have even bounce for strokemaking. bat second me thinks always, always bat 1st at eden and rake up a big score to put the pressure on the opposition
adi B Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 there is a bit of green tinge on the wicket which will help the pacers in the morning session especially with early start in the morning..looks a good wkt tbh
rkt.india Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I would like Shami-Yadav but that is not likely as BK provides a bit of control and Dhoni also prefers a bowler who can provide control and does not leak too many runs. Yadav-Shami both can leak runs as they are more attacking.
saneindian Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 TVS logo on the stumps? lol is this really the pitch for 1st test? Cant remember TVS being associated with cricket for a long long time
saneindian Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 Interesting comment by Dhoni Now the team management has a dilemma. "The thing is, whether we want to go with four bowlers, or if we want that fifth one," Dhoni said. "Or do we want someone who can bowl a bit if needed? That is one major decision. The decision is one, but it is divided into three different aspects. "If we go with five bowlers, both of them [Rohit and Rahane] may not play. If we say we need someone who can bowl a bit of offspin, Rohit plays. If we say we go with four specialist bowlers, and if needed we will look for someone else, Ajinkya will play. You'll have to wait and watch." All this more or less reduces Rahane's chances in the tiebreaker. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-west-indies-2013-14/content/story/685751.html Bolded part IMO is the most likely scenario.
TheWall Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 TVS logo on the stumps? lol is this really the pitch for 1st test? Cant remember TVS being associated with cricket for a long long time They were, when Sachin was endorsing their Victor Bike.
saneindian Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 Important to note play starts at 9 am tomorrow (and not 9.30 , as is the norm at other Indian test venues)
Pagalpanti Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 That looks like an old pic of Wankhede pitch, only Mumbai has a reddish looking pitch like that.. This seems like it though..
