Yet men and women are paid equal. How is this fair and equality?[/quote'] It's not only about 5 sets. There are many other aspects. Ticket prices for grand slams Finals and Semi-Finals are significantly high for Men tournament. Other significant factor is WTA tour offers much less prize money when they have their independent tournaments. For example couple of weeks before Wimbledon starts, ATP has Queens grass tournament (a 250 event). In the same week WTA has other events in England. But prize money for WTA event is around one third of prize money for ATP events. But then in Wimbledon they get equal prize money which is a combined ITF event. Though there are many factors like category of the events etc, but there is no denial that women players get much less money for the events which are independent WTA events with respect to the combined events. This issue is raised intermittently by some of the players but never gets much momentum because top players want to come across as politically correct. To me this issue is trivial. By paying somebody less by 500K or so dollars, it is not going to make huge difference to anybody, so for the sake of notional value of equality let it be there.

For eg.,Roddick is a powerful hitter and his major weakness is his sliggishness. In many matches u could see him just throwing off a point becoz he is too slow to get to the other side of the court. oth, Steffi graf is a very strong baseliner, very agile to counter the incoming ball at high speeds and spinning the ball using her backhand technique earned her points in crucial times. She could trouble Roddick becoz, her major strengths could exploit roddick's weakness. that's just my version of theory on paper, it would be much different on a court. :P

Roddick was quick enough across a court- his weaknesses were the lack of a decent backhand-though Connors fixed that to an extent, a limited return game and inability at the net. His power (though not even that outstanding by mens standards toward the latter half of his career) would have still overwhelmed any elite womens players, Graf uncluded. Lol dude. The men's game is chiefly differentiated by the power serve. The one area where a female player is least likely to trouble a male opponent is the service. :laugh:
And power and speed and agility and reflexes. However plenty of women's player I have admired over the years. I am prety sure Graf also had a similar match which she might have won.

That article is fun to read, thanks for sharing :icflove: Roddick's backhand is certainly a weakness for for him, so does his footwork. Graf is so good at hitting a low sliced back hand shot, forcing the opponent to quickly turn to their side. Graf can force Roddick to uncomfortably position, if she manage to underspin the ball to his left, she could get a point due to his slow footwork. I guess that's how Federer has been successful against Roddick. Again, this is just a theoratical comparison of their skills for the sake of argument, I don't see Graf managing to win. She could annoy him at max :giggle: As you said, his backhand is vastly improved, but still he deserves much more success. big fan :((
