N McCullum scored 22 to finish off the match in last 4 balls of second innings. Is this the highest number of runs scored to finish the match? Hussey had scored as many runs in that Ajmal over in four balls but he still had one more ball to go.

I guess he meant last 4 balls of the match. also that was the 2nd last over IIRC
OP says last 4 balls of the innings. I remember it being the last over but my memory is fuzzy so I could be wrong Edit : His Cricinfo profile timeline says it was the 50th over OWg0WVt.png

Well.. Zaheer Khan's over qualify here for my question. I really meant last four balls of an innings. I reframe my question, what is the maximum number of runs that team needed to win at the time of four balls remaining for the matches where that (chasing) team eventually went on to win the match. for 1 ball - 6 runs 2 balls - 10 runs (Chanderpaul had scored a six and a four to get those 10 runs) 3 balls - ?? 4 balls - 17 ?? 300 balls - 434.

anyone scored more than 6 runs in the last ball to win the game?? say - 7 needed from 1 ball and the chasing team wins

There are worse bowler than RP Singh in this world. Our bowlers like RP, Ishant unnecessarily get more stick on ICF. See this last ball - 12 runs, still team wins :cantstop: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNLDImPj-VE]12 Runs in 1 Ball Classic Finish in Cricket History - YouTube[/ame] However, my question was limited to proper cricket. ODI's or Test or International T20's.

shouldn't that be 5+6 = 11 runs?
Two runs for no ball there.same rule was there in English T20 cup also that is understandable, trying a yorker and getting wrong, overstepping on the last ball is just:cantstop:

One utube comment provided explanation that some domestic tournaments penalize team by 2 runs in case of a no-ball. It was one of such tournaments.
