Magneto Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Australia did play like minnows in that series...nothing seperates the Aus team that toured and this WI team...infact Chanderpaul>Clarke I think most people at ICF behave like hoity-toity humbugs with a zero sense of fun and humour. Every banter gets taken seriously, and 'jargon' becomes the sole criteria in judging posts overlooking the spirit. Seems like a conference of about-to-be-retired sarkari college lecturers.

maniac Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 You want me to post his record "fast tracks" :hysterical: Won MOS overseas and MOM in a highprofile game in Eng where Aswin was a lollipop bowler :giggle:
Magneto Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Will actually do well if he manages 20 wickets in the next nine Tests.
vvvslaxman Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Won MOS in WI and MOM in a highprofile game in Eng where Aswin was a lollipop bowler :giggle: Last 5 series of Ishant after Windies series.. 58.18 in England 67.40 in India vs Windies 90.20 in Australia 42.25 ni India vs England 37.85 in India vs Australia :giggle:

vvvslaxman Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Shows he is fast improving :two_thumbs_up: Won us C.T did not lose CT for us and Celkon Cup where Aswin flopped small correction :cantstop:
King Tendulkar Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 91/100 in India :cantstop: Yes a lot to prove but cant mock him to much as hardly played overseas, in fact only played in oz next 12 months will reveal all
G_B_ Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Role in India: pick plenty of wickets Role outside the sub: contain , be tight and allow pacers to bowl around you. Contribute with bat. He does this then i am happy. Not fair to expect Ash to basically average well away from home
maniac Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Aswin has 3 MOS against minnows at home...Ishant has MOS against ATG Aussie side and overseas.....that is equivalent to 10 MOS...Aswin has a long way to play catchup :winky:
maniac Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 small correction :cantstop: How did we get to the final again :giggle:
King Tendulkar Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Runs on board for spinner crucial overseas as outlined earlier. As major role for spinner ovseas is 2nd innings and day 4 and 5 pitch. So far for ashwin overseas he never got to bowl day 4 or 5 as oppo only batted once and we got smacked:hysterical: If we get runs on the board am sure he will do well overseas
maniac Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Jokes apart...Aswin is good....WIll be a top allrounder in the coming years

Even out of form Punter made feast of our bowling. They prepared flat decks even against South Africa and feasted on them until the last test.
putrevus Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Also against spin England is a horrible side generally. If he had done well against them he would still have been considered a minnow basher lol. HTB etc etc. but he played against teams like WI and NZ who looked so scared see the ball turn that they just could not bat and played against arguably the worst Aussie side to ever tour to India. He flopped big time against England as you said even now they are horrible against spin I have no fricking clue how they won those two tests where both Monty and Swann looked more threatening than him. Record is record but it is very shallow and is not an indication of his greatness. I don't put his overseas record against him he has played very little and is unfair to judge him but in India facing against batsmen who were willing to fight it out he has totally looked out of sorts.
vvvslaxman Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Ashwin has made some corrective measures since England series. Tried far too many variations. That was the observation. Also our batsmen did not help one bit.
