Sidhoni Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 The only reason why we sent players early overseas in the past is because we played tests first on that particular tour. This time' date=' we play 3 ODIs before the 2 tests in SA, [b']so the selectors want our boys to get ODI form before they head to SA That makes sense. Though the same could be done with some matches against SA state sides.
YoungTalent Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 That makes sense. Though the same could be done with some matches against SA state sides. But there are no tour games

Ghost Buster Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/1273874 more than a chance as per this Living nearby i can say there is 70% chance in the evening. Last 2days there was heavy rain in the evening but today no rain. If it rains it will be heavy downpour with lightning.
fineleg Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Dhoni better drop Unadcannot and Vennai. IF Unadkat or Vennai play - then Windies will have their christmas gifts early 9PVhIMr4ScI
Soorma_Bhopali Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 There is no point playing so many of our test players in this meaningless series. Not playing them would have served two purposes : They could have gone early to SA to get used to conditions well and probably could have slipped in an extra practice match. And also some of our young players like Rayudu' date=' Rasool, Juneja etc could have been given a chance.[/quote'] No ..that is devaluing ODI cricket and I am not sure the test+ODI players will like to give up their spot for the same ..they may never get back into the team if someone performs exceptionally well ..This will only destabilize the team .. Morever , with ODI WC 2015 , I think we now pretty much know the pool of players and need to play the first XI in all ODI's:agree:
MCcricket Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 For the first time Dhoni talked about need to have a good pool of seamers for the World Cup n why he has all these bowlers in the squad and trying out different bowlers n now m scared coz the bowlers we have in the squad are useless Unadkat and worse Vinnie, you form a pool by giving a go to potential good bowlers n see how they adjust and ability to tak wickets n not trying out repeatedly same four or five loosers, let loose Suyal, Pankaj, Shukla, Aaron
ShebbySB Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 For the first time Dhoni talked about need to have a good pool of seamers for the World Cup n why he has all these bowlers in the squad and trying out different bowlers n now m scared coz the bowlers we have in the squad are useless Unadkat and worse Vinnie' date=' you form a pool by giving a go to potential good bowlers n see how they adjust and ability to tak wickets n not trying out repeatedly same four or five loosers, let loose Suyal, Pankaj, Shukla, Aaron[/quote'] Bro Aaron just came back into the FC cricket.Just played a single match, should play more & get his full rhythm back. When he does that he's our first team player in the LOIs.BK,Shami & Aaron are our top 3 bowlers in the ODIs.Mohit will also seal a spot.I'm sure Suyal & Shukla will be selected in the A team, they're very young so after some A tour exposure & good performances they'll also get a go.Dhawal was selected but got injured so VK came back in.I'm sure he won't get any matches unless Dhoni decides to troll us all:giggle: ..........BK,Shami,Aaron,Mohit are our best bets in the LOIs,followed by Dhawal,Shukla,Suyal. For tests Shami,Umesh,BK,Pandey & Aaron.Zak will probably play for another year in the tests.
Sean Bradley Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Any news on the weather? Kochi is always pissing like Srilanka. :headshake:

vayuu1 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 We should have tested our bench strength in this series What do you guys think,we should have tested our bench strength, instead of this regular team, since a very important S.A tour is around the corner, guys like virat, dhawan, rohit, pujara, bhuvi, umesh, shami, dhoni should have been in south Africa assessing conditions there and adapt ASAP,since only two weeks are left.
mancalledsting Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 definitely agree-need to find a new viable batsmen as the Yuvraj/Raina axis cannot continue. They will both be walking wickets on fast/bouncy Australian pitches.
GoldenSun Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 definitely agree-need to find a new viable batsmen as the Yuvraj/Raina axis cannot continue. They will both be walking wickets on fast/bouncy Australian pitches. Agreed. Yuvraj is one of of best ODI players ever, but I just feel that he may be done. Unless Raina ever improves his technique against the short ball, he will definitely be a walking wicket. We have to keep experimenting till we find a good combination before the World Cup.
