Mitchell Johnson & George Bailey Ashes Performance Watch-

These are the two players who stuck enormous form in the recent ODI series against India, and are the most unexpected selection in the Ashes Squad. I enjoy watching George Bailey bat, especially his attitude towards batting is reminiscent to Michael Hussey's. Can George Bailey make an impact on this Aussie Batting Line up and fill the Michael Hussey Void? Here's an interesting feed from Cricinfo.

Australia have not won a Test since Michael Hussey's retirement in January, and since the start of the last Australian summer, the only team they have beaten in a Test is Sri Lanka.

Bailey :fail: looked terrible. Poor technique too.
Give him at least 3 continuous tests . He seemed to be overeager adn nervous . He modified his normal stance to cover for the swing . If he settles down andkeep his cool , he will be a decent no.6 batsman for Oz.:whack:

johnson is australia's ashwin :hmmm:
Johnson is a very poor player against off spinners. Especially when they have things like doosra. But in Australian pitches he can bat well against them.

Ashwin is a better batsman than Johnson any day. He has technique of a specialist batsman. Johnson is poor man's vettori.
maybe but johnson has played some epic innings specially against south africa i rate them as equal :D

He is a much better slogger on surfaces that don't assist spin much. But surviving and scoring runs against good bowling Ashwin is definitely better.

Didn't Ashwin score a 62 in Australia? In chennai with Dhoni he put on a 100 partnership against good bowling right?

one off and its not like track was doing anything those were flat conditions like today if johnson struggles against spin than lets see what ashwin does against swing :two_thumbs_up: till then to me they are very equal as batsmen

Ashwin is far better batsman and can bat in top 56 of this Aussie team. Johnson is just a slogger who can play a good innings here and there ala Bhajji.

My argument is theer is already comparison of Ashwin with some of our own top order batsman. Infact lot of similarities between him and Laxman. he is already being compared with specialist batsman. At junior level he has 25 centuries as opener. His technique and timing vindicates that.

well i will wait for south african series maybe johnson is just a slogger but he has won test matches against big teams with bat on very tricky wickets..
