What does Bhuvi have to do to pick up wickets in India?

Pace is not a necessity for good death bowling unless a pacer can bowl yorkers at will. Intelligence and accuracy is. Plus the ability to bowl yorkers, slower balls and not giving width. So, Bhuvi can become a good death bowler if he practices.
Well it can be handy, what would u prefer a skillful bhuvi bowling at 137k or a skillful bhuvi bowling at 143 k.

Well it can be handy' date='what would u prefer a skillful bhuvi bowling at 137k or a skillful bhuvi bowling at 143 k.[/quote'] I always prefer genuine fast bowlers with skill. That should always be the target. The biggest reason for India not becoming a really feared test side is either not finding or not picking good fast bowlers. Problem is , not many such bowlers are available. Those available are not always picked. Among the ones picked, Bhuvi looks to be second best after Shami. BK does not bowl at 143 k. I would prefer BK bowling at the death than Ishant, VK and Unadkat.

Well bhuvi is young ,I believe if he can increase his by 5k he can be a real threat.

BK pace is not quite as bad as one thinks He seems to regularly bowl in 80 to 85 mph area. Of course not fast but he is swinging it at that pace.
He bowls 78 m to 84 m these days. Mostly 79 - 81 m. That could be basic minimum acceptable pace for a swing and seam bowler. But, he is capable of bowling a bit quicker without losing accuracy .

yes Bhuvi from what i have seen is more of a 128-130 bowler. Was a bit faster last match which is encouraging. Interesting to note that when Virat was captain in zimbabwe most pacers (even Vinay) usually finished their quotas (or close to finishing their quotas) and the part timers did not bowl as much. While this was Zimbabwe IMO Dhoni would have still used part timers. To certain extent I go agree that Dhoni does not handle young pacers well. Mohit Sharma is another one who never bowled at the death for CSK. Or very rarely bowled at the death. Spin in the death overs is just not going to work in Australia where the next world cup takes place. You know when they had a rule of new ball in the 35th overs. Me thinks bhuvi might have been a very good bowler for India. Effectively he would have a bigger range.

IPL is effectively 15 overs of death bowling, and I dont remember a match in which Bhuvi was smashed unlike other Indian bowlers. Even in the Gayle storm match of 175 which was effectively 20 overs of pure madness Bhuvi went for only 23 in his quota of 4 overs. Pandey went for 33 in his 2 and Dinda went for something more than Pandey. So I dont get Dhoni's theory that Bhuvi is not good enough to bowl at death.

He does bowl some loose ball which he need to control. Overall he has a good prospect but need to work on being consistent.
Agree with this. Batsmen don't have a clue when he gets it in the right area but he is a bit wayward. Swing bowlers can get away with it because they have a greater leeway; if you swing it big into the pads, its okay but if you bowl on the pads it is four runs, for example. Nothing complicated, I think he'll get better with time.

Like all other players moving forward (not dhoni as we know he cant deliver overseas and is proven failure), we will find out a lot about him in SA and next year with plenty of overseas assignmnets. So excited about SA series, so much will be revealed about New Gen

malinga was the best death over bowler but right now most of the batsman are able to play him easily because they have got used to his bowling in the death even before the ball is delivered they are able know were he will bowl every bowler has some plans to bowl in last over bhuvi being new might not have too many plans it is easier to target new bowlers remember dhoni targeted eranga and scored 20 runs later he revealed that "I think I am blessed with a bit of good cricketing sense," says MS Dhoni. "15 players have been very good on the field and that is a good sign. The opposition bowler was not the most experienced in that last over unlike Malinga, so I thought i would take my chances. I went with a heavy bat, the weight was perfect for slogging."

So, do you mean to say use our most experienced bowler Ishanth in the death to get the respect from opposition as we saw from Faulkner :haha: IMO Death bowling is mainly about three things - Yorkers, bowling to your field and using some grey cells in the brain. Bhuvi atleast does the last one for starter. He also has a decent yorker although not at great pace. But we know how effective Vaas was in bowling yorkers even at his pace. Even a spinner bowling a good yorker is hard to hit. Also, you can't develop a bowler without giving him chances.

true dhoni should at-least try to use him in death over when we are bowling first talking about ishant i cannot understand why he bowls short-stuff in death over not a single yorkers he got lucky in champion league

Dont build your hopes on any Indian bowelr at this point. They often flatter to deceive in a couple of series. That goes to all bowlers. Fast, super fast, medium fast, fast medium, military medium everyone.
