Mariyam Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 It does create disharmony in different ways. For ex., Parties have an incentive(votes) to manufacture animosity. Why not scrap elections altogether. Nobody has any incentive to manufacture animosity. Democracy is over rated anyways. :dontknow:
Mariyam Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 @ Mariam, Where did i told people vote based on what clerics preach? all i said was clerics are waking up to this vote bank policies and trying to send message to masses who comes to listen to them. At least they are not asking people to follow Taliban. People are free to vote whomever they want, only dumb and fanatics vote based on what others say. What? Clerics are waking up to vote bank policies? Most such 'clerics' are the reason that there are certain vote banks. A cleric, should have zero role in politics. If Ratan Tata asked all the employees of his group of companies to opt for the NOTA there would be an uproar. Why should the case of a cleric be any different? I'm going to spare you all the Quranic injunction, but there are verses which mention that people should think for themselves. The vast majority of the vocal ( or at least those who get the sound bytes) clerics, however just do the opposite. They assume people to be stupid, and dictate to them what people should do. And its the clerics who want to maintain status quo. They don't want their following to do too well, lest their own influence fades. * I'm not generalizing on clerics as a whole. There are far too many good ones. I'm talking about those 'clerics' who are nothing but opportunists and rabble-rousers. Unfortunately they are the ones who shout the loudest and have their voices heard the most. BTW. You use the term vote bank very loosely. What exactly is a vote bank according to you? The Muslims voting for the Congress is a vote bank? The Hindus voting the BJP to power on the back of the Babri Masjid demolition were not a vote bank?
randomGuy Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Why not scrap elections altogether. Nobody has any incentive to manufacture animosity. Democracy is over rated anyways. :dontknow: Please realize that using NOTA is not anti-democratic.
randomGuy Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 What? Clerics are waking up to vote bank policies? Most such 'clerics' are the reason that there are certain vote banks. The Muslims voting for the Congress is a vote bank? The Hindus voting the BJP to power on the back of the Babri Masjid demolition were not a vote bank? claiming batla house encounter fake, durga shakti case, hesitance in taking action on terrorists or to stop illegal migration frm BD, hundreds of communal incidents every year, competitive appeasement, politics of muslim reservations, non-uniform civil code, shah bano case, parties using secularism bogey to cover their corruption, incompetence, for winning elections, the rot in politics, the situation (poverty, ignorance) of country due to this, muslims blindly adhering to clerics, voting as a horde - All these are realities. Any cleric asking for NOTA use is welcome.:hatsoff:
Mariyam Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 @ randomguy Please realize that: Democracy----->elections------>incentive for parties to manufacture animosity, and the various things you've claimed in post #24 Why have a Democracy at all? If I'm to understand you right, Muslims voting (for whoever it may be) is the cause of the ills that you've listed in post #24. So your alternative is Muslims should listen to this cleric and exercise the right to the NOTA?
bulbul Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 vote bank means people consistently voting to single party irrespective of improvements. Its not solely limited to Muslims, this thread is related to Muslims so its relative subject here. There are other vote banks in India. PS: If Hindu vote bank exists in India BJP will be in power forever :winky:
bulbul Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 @ Mariam, no one is saying Muslims voting NOTA will solve all problems. Frankly speaking this country problems will never going solve,we are just happy at least some people are taking note of situation. As I already told end of day it's peoples decision to vote to whomever they want , I agreed with Clerics word because he is against "Seculars"
bulbul Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 Mariyam, another question Are you saying all the clerics who are making statements like "Do not vote for seculars" are opportunists? So you have any proof against them? or you are just assuming?
randomGuy Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Even if clerics say vote as per merits, the political environment, discourse, issues raked up are such that they are gonna end up voting as vote banks anyways. So IMO its best that clerics call for notafor a few years. Anyways its just 1 cleric, all clerics aren't gonna do the same even if I'd like that.
Detonator Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 @ randomguy Please realize that: Democracy----->elections------>incentive for parties to manufacture animosity, and the various things you've claimed in post #24 Why have a Democracy at all? If I'm to understand you right, Muslims voting (for whoever it may be) is the cause of the ills that you've listed in post #24. So your alternative is Muslims should listen to this cleric and exercise the right to the NOTA? India isn't democratic. we are ruled by a nehru-gandhi dynasty. :dontknow:
KhanSaab Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 BJP rising from an inconsequential party to forming the government in less than 25 years with only one real issue driven agenda = biggest vote bank politics in the history of India. Now BJP supporters see vote banks everywhere conveniently forgetting their own past. If only you practice what you preach.
bulbul Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 ^ Lol If BJP have vote bank as you "seculars" assume, they should have power in every state barring few. Before you start jumping up and down , none of us told only Muslim vote bank is there in India.
randomGuy Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 India was a single-party country, there was no strong opposition. Indian is a big and diverse country and if temple issue was what it takes to bring up a credible opposition, I will take it gladly.
bulbul Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Muslims can stop BJP by voting for SP: Bukhari "I think Muslims certainly have the option of polling in bulk for the SP to stop the BJP from emerging victorious," the Shahi Imam said. The situation in UP is different from other states where BJP swept the elections. In Delhi, whatever seats Congress won was because of the Muslim vote. That equation may change when it comes to parliamentary elections in UP. Here, Muslims have another option in Samajwadi Party," he said. It was only last week when Bukhari gave a warm welcome to UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav who had come to attend a wedding ceremony of a family member of Bukhari. According to sources, Bukhari is likely to meet SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav soon. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Muslims-can-stop-BJP-by-voting-for-SP-Bukhari/articleshow/27146130.cms :hmmm:
randomGuy Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Of course, seats like Ballimaran, chandnichowk, OKhla went for congress, Matia mahal went for jdu. These seats have dominant Muslim vote. If not for Muslim vote, cong+jdu would have 0-1 seat n one of Aap bjp would have simple majority.
The Outsider Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 ^ Yeah, Musallmaans should be disenfranchised. What's next on the agenda? Eradication?
Ghost Buster Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 ^ Yeah' date=' Musallmaans should be disenfranchised. What's next on the agenda? Eradication?[/quote']Q Cant, 10 children for 1 family
Clarke Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Q Cant, 10 children for 1 family Yep, can't blame the majority community, they're so disciplined to enforce the one-child policy on themselves since centuries for the sake of national interest.
Clarke Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Read this in the paper edition today, glad to know that the secular bakwaas has been dismissed. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/27197281.cms?utm_source=contentofinterest&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=cppst
someone Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 ^ Yeah' date=' Musallmaans should be disenfranchised. What's next on the agenda? Eradication?[/quote'] What about Muslims in India representing and acting as inIndian first? If they start putting the nation first instead of their religion each time, that would solve most of India's problem. BTW, do not mean all Muslims but definitely majority of them.
