Zanjeer Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 :giggle: Some one just wants Rohit to play like he's facing a bowling machine and get out. The hate is strong in this thread. He was doing the same thing in england for CT and fared pretty well. He is always cautious in the first 10 overs. I dont know what the problem is. if that someone says there is a problem, there is a problem. What's your problem?:giggle:
Old guy Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 if that someone says there is a problem' date=' there is a problem. What's your problem?:giggle:[/quote'] yeah its opinion and instead of trolling i actually backed up what i said and even showed where he missed every ball (way out side off stump ) at 5th stump line you do not have to agree with it but everyone here has right to talk about what they think that is what forum is created for calling some one hater is just inviting backlash and derailing thread .

I never called you a hater. I just don't agree with you that rohit's innings was bad . he did really well to survive such an unbelievable spell of bowling. I don't know where you presented facts..:hmmm: . You were arguing that the fuller balls were more tougher to drive. Are you crazy? Fuller deliveries are whole lot easier to drive than the deliveries pitched in the corridor of uncertainty.. Fuller deliveries are easier unless its on yorker length. anyway I am outta here. As you mentioned in your post, you don't have to agree with me. See ya.
SLICKR392 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 if that someone says there is a problem' date=' there is a problem. What's your problem?:giggle:[/quote'] ++ :giggle: Reminds me of this pic.

Fuller deliveries are easier unless its on yorker length. anyway I am outta here. As you mentioned in your post, you don't have to agree with me. See ya. first of all no one asked rohit to drive 2nd of all i posted a picture of where he played/missed each and every ball of dale steyn and all of them were way outside off stump and his feet were planted on middle stump that is what i posted to support that he does not moves his feet so in the end his bat is away from his body when he tried to play the ball and that is why he missed 6-7 times in row . in short he was not moving his feet and going after the ball with hands but ideally he should have take one step ahead and played the ball half a meter in front of where he was playing . so he made good swing bowling extraordinary..it was excellent spell but he did not play as well as you people are making it sound like . this was my opinion and these are things i noticed..i think its much better than calling you rohit's lover isnt it ? thing is kohli played same bowler and some how middles the ball which rohit was not able to even once in his inning ..cover drive was not even posted by me please re check ..
Old guy Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 btw fuller balls in conditions which are swinging are more dangerous than shorter ones .. there is no debate about it cos ball swings more and swings late and you have to commit to shot
Sajid_Rana Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 In JOhanusburg your entire line up would have been all out for 20 runs against Steyn :cantstop: . You want to see how Bhajji whacked Steyn for straight six in the last Test series in SA? You guys played on conditions very similar to UAE. INdia played on the fastest pitch in SA in a while as per their own admission. Yeah right. When Pak batsmen flop in SA blame their technique call them sloggers but its all the pitch and conditions fault when same thing happens to Indian batsmen. LoL at your hypocrisy.
vvvslaxman Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 Yeah right. When Pak batsmen flop in SA blame their technique call them sloggers but its all the pitch and conditions fault when same thing happens to Indian batsmen. LoL at your hypocrisy. You have no idea don't you. You played on super slow surfaces in SA unlike wanderers. This was mentioned in the commentary as well. You think you guys failed only in SA? You have failed everywhere . Did you even cross 200 in CT? (170 all out, 167 all out, 165 all out) When was the last time you guys chased 250 successfully? How many centuries you have scored in the last 5 years? What is the batting average/strike rate of your batsmen compared to others in the world. Yusuf Pathan also got a 100 in centurion and pulled off a miraculous win almost. That doesn't mean he is better than the current Indian top order. It is the pitch . India was barely in their 3rd day without any practice. You guys have been playing all year against SA. Eventually you are bound to come good in a few matches that too on slow tracks.
div Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Yeah right. When Pak batsmen flop in SA blame their technique call them sloggers but its all the pitch and conditions fault when same thing happens to Indian batsmen. LoL at your hypocrisy. During Johannesburg, some commentators wondered why they weren't given similarly quick pitches against Pakistan. They won't have much to complain about here; India have come to a green pitch in Durban, http://www.espncricinfo.com/south-africa-v-india-2013-14/content/story/697995.html
panther Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Sa have rarely given pak green pitches when pak have toured just in case wasim, waqar, shoaib, asif etc turned the tables on them, this year with an inexperienced attack they went for green pitches as their was no asif and amir playing. But they didn't risk bouncy pitches for this odi series as they knew this would bring irfan and riaz into play.
vvvslaxman Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Pujara, Vijay, Kohli 1-165 Handled like champs. Zak's onslaught against Steyn was icing on the cake.
vvvslaxman Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Having said that i am little nervous about next match Dale will come at us charging :nervous: Hope M Vijay and Dhawan see off the new ball.
Switchblade Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Having said that i am little nervous about next match Dale will come at us charging :nervous: Hope M Vijay and Dhawan see off the new ball. That's what I think as well he will come back hard at us . Lot will depend on Vijay Virat and Pujara how they handle him.
panther Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Pujara and kohli handled him very well, He was bowling 5th stump line this works against ftbs like sehwag and hafeez but not patient leavers, One criticism would be that he should have bowled off stump line with his away swing the ball would end up at 4th stump anyway.
vvvslaxman Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Pujara and kohli handled him very well' date=' He was bowling 5th stump line this works against ftbs like sehwag and hafeez but not patient leavers, One criticism would be that he should have bowled off stump line with his away swing the ball would end up at 4th stump anyway.[/quote'] He did bowl all kind of deliveries. Guys like us know that, but somehow it escaped the mind of one of the greatest bowler of all time? He tried they left even the ones that went close to off stump.
jonas10 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Steyn has been made to eat his words on Indian batsmen fearing SA. It was clear at the end of the test match at least who feared who. India were going after taking wickets and Steyn was staring at dot balls. Petrified at losing the match and zero interest at going for a win. Gutless in my opinion.
Old guy Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 The whole discussion about coming forward now makes sense no ? Told ya guys rohit is making it look harder than it is ..
rkt.india Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 The whole discussion about coming forward now makes sense no ? Told ya guys rohit is making it look harder than it is .. No. Your argument is proved wrong. See what Kohli had said. Your argument was cover the swing and play them. I will post what Kohli had said on 4th day. I had said play the original, do not follow the ball if you are beaten, does not matter, you are still safe and they did the same and Kohli also echoed what I had said. The big factor was they left the ball well and that is key. Key is not to cover the ball and play them because there is a risk involved in it to edge them. Virat Kohli said he enjoyed batting out there. He was concentrating on being patient even as he approached his century but he thought the ball had bounced a bit more to catch his edge even as he looked to keep it down. He had been challenged in the ODI series and had visualised more than practiced against the short ball coming into the Tests. The biggest adjustment he had to make was leaving the ball around the fourth stump and even the off stump when it was bouncing over and working on the confidence to do so. The stand with Pujara was brilliant, he said, because on either side of them wickets fell in bunches. He's a great player, great temperement and he's getting lots of runs for India. He said it was difficult to get in on this wicket, but he and Pujara had kept asking each other if they playing after getting in line with the balls that needed to be played. They shelved the flashy strokes outside off and concentrated on leaving the ball and if they got beaten after getting in line, it was okay

I said cover swing not play each and every ball Every one said we moved our feet well and played ball within our body and not away from body like rohit I even gave example of pointing leaving the ball but still covering it and that's what our batters did ..don't try to spin this off . Every one saw how they moved their feet came on front foot without any gap between bat and pad even while playing cover drive ..see comparison I made between Kohli and rohit on last page only :winky:
Old guy Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 They even said if get beaten getting in line...it's ok ..robot was not getting in line he was staying on leg side and pushing his hands and I can promise you if he plays in top order he will do exact same thing and make swing look much bigger
