You play to win and not to test players. There are A tours for that.
ruchi49 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 i am not missing seniors,we can not justify our youngstar by one series we have give some chance to prove themselves we have a cool captain
vvvslaxman Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Looks like Batsmen didn't have any extra preparation for this series. Just the regular run of the mill net practice. I expect Pujara to do better because he has a different mental make up than the other guys. Bowlers have no excuse. In bowilng you can easily learn from the opposition about which lengths you should bowl. You can make mistakes and come back. Bowlers don't "get dismissed" in one ball.

The team hardly has had any break since the Aus ODIs started
Austin 3:!6 Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Where was the time? The team hardly has had any break since the Aus ODIs started Nothing justifies 150+ runs defeat in back to back games. Nothing justifies 100 runs opening partnership of the opposition in back to back games. No one is complaining about the loss but the way they lose the matches. No fights at all, which we never used to see from seniors.
CG Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Our top order struggled in Champions Trophy warm up matches as well. But after spending enough time in England' date=' they all found their form. Give these guys enough time to adjust before castigating them.[/quote'] Champions trophy pitches were not as juicy as these and not as potent as sa bowling attack.Luck also favoured us dhawan was dropped in every match.

coffee_rules Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Well we did draw series in SA and Aus with seniors. Point was' date=' they still scored runs even if bowling remained sad[/quote'] http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/engine/series/249040.html
Tiger80 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/engine/series/249040.html Bowling attack of Zak,Irfan,Munaf , Sir Aggy Sreesanth ,Kumble and Bhajji :woot: Looks much better than current one
veer Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Anyone missing Sehwag, Gambhir, Zaheer & Bhajji in the ODI team. Their experience could have played a part on the tough tour like this. I have no doubt we will lose all the matches in this series. Last time when we lost that series against Pakistan, seniors were blamed and axed. And they fill the team with Srini's CSK boys. Who is going to get axe now?? Bandwagon fan... jumps off the ship the moment it feels some trimmers.. :cantstop: Its a good learning period for the team so sit tight and expect more hiccups.

As I said before International cricket is not the place for learning, definitely not at the expense of team's performance and in a tough tour like SA. I don't understand this concept try youngsters dosen't matter even if we lose. I though you play for your country to win.

Experimenting uncapped players in SA? You experiment in home matches or on a weak overseas tour like Zim or WI. Not against top teams in the world :headshake:

And

And You don't experiment in South African conditions. Its natural the young guns will fail there and the last two games testify that.
veer Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 You don't experiment in South African conditions. Its natural the young guns will fail there and the last two games testify that. So how do you guarantee that Veeru, Gauti etc will succceed if brought back? These new guys will have to gain experience sometime.. 'A' tours dont give Steyn and Morkell type experience so that suggestion is baseless.. Problem was lack of planning/preparation time just like 0-8 season.. BCCI is more about making money/completing ICC planner etc and less about Team India winning.. Seniors or no Seniors.. doesnt make any difference.
Silva Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 You joking right? Experimenting uncapped players in SA? You experiment in home matches or on a weak overseas tour like Zim or WI. Tailender Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Why move backwards? Plus I thought the Indian top order played decently in the first ODI. In fact Rohit did quite well to survive that opening spell from Steyn. If he'd gotten out a collapse was on the cards the way Steyn was bowling leggies. India need to keep their aggression in check. Hitting out uppishly to fielders is hardly good batting.
Sandeep99 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I'm missing a captain like Sourav Ganguly. :hatsoff: Only Dhoni could go in with 5 bowlers and end up giving Raina, Kohli 12 overs.. And fast bowlers don't even complete quota! What a shameful captain!
