Follow barcelona and have logo for cause.
they are paid $40 million by the qatar foundation. How is that them following the cause? Yes before that they had uniceif (i think) but they gave up that as they struggled to pay the salaries of players. Lets not go the Barcelona way. Upto their eyeballs in debt.

Do the Guptas own Sahara? And I believe they stay in South Africa?
Both Saharas are owned completely different people with no connections with each other.

Is it not Star Sports? The word on the street is that SA tour is curtailed as the new sponsor starts from Jan 1 & Ten sports owns the rights of SA tour

Lol Rofl. Don't worry. India will never go that way beause we have a BCCI, paiso ke bhooke bhikmangi log. You think they will do charity work :)

Also I would like Nike to have some compeition. Right now, just because of it's name it's being considered great sponsor. They haven't really been that special the way we would think for such a top brnad like NIKE. I hope Lacoste comes in competition to them and ask BCCI to let them make it's jersey. Lacoste will do better job than NiKE. I can bet. Lacoste is already sponsoring Somdev Devvarman too. Love their jerseys which they made for Roddick and Isner.

dude you know how small Lacoste is as a company? Its a niche market which concentrates on sports like tennis. (Lacoste was a French tennis player) There are effectively 3 options. Nike Addidas or Puma. You can do for smaller manufacturers into the cricketing segment like Canterbury. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canterbury_of_New_Zealand But they in no way have the capacity or money to bid for the right to bid for the BCCI sports jersey. If anything Canterbury have been pushed out by Nike and Adidas when it comes to the cricketing market.

Tata would be great. But i doubt they would bid. Airtel is the realistic bidder.May be Vodafone???
Vodafone would be terrible. I don't want any britt company sponsoring team india. :whack: Samsung on Chelsea looks awesome 11-12-chelsea-third-long-sleeve-soccer-jersey-chelsea-jersey-in-argentina.jpg

Barcelona has a history of not having any commercial sponsorships.Debt is not due to shirt sponsorship,Its just a fraction.Bcci can afford to have only india Logo .

Star wins Indian team's title-sponsor rights

Star India, the television network, has won the title-sponsor rights of the Indian team, having submitted the winning bid to the BCCI on Monday. So Star now holds all own the three important rights in Indian cricket: broadcasting, series title and team sponsorship. Star bid Rs 1.92 crore per match for bilateral series, and Rs 61 lack per match for ICC-sponsored tournaments. It holds the rights for the period running January 1, 2014, to March 31, 2017. It is understood that Sahara India Pariwar, the current rights holder, who had bought the bid document, was found technically ineligible by the BCCI marketing committee, as it is involved in legal wrangles with the Indian board. The rights include the right to be called the official team sponsor, and to display a commercial logo on the men's, women's, Under-19 and A teams' kits. More to follow

Star everywhere. Why would they even sponsor the series title is something I don't get. Wouldn't they get a share of the money if someone else like Micromax etc sponsors series title?
