White ball doesnt last much thats why they have two white balls in odi's.

Thats prolly because ODI and Tests use diff manufacturing process for the balls??? Otherwise if you make the SAME EXACT red ball as being used now, and ONLY change the color to white - no other change, it should behave the same, right?

they should release loads of fireflies on to the ground whenever there is a bad light

:cantstop: yea that might work.... since there are so many flies all over the stadiums on the floodlights, on players jerseys (saw the mcg test yesterday and there were about 100 flies on every player/umpire's back)..... just need to replace them with fireflies and this issue is resolved.

^ That was ridiculous though. Literally dark , fielders could not see But then reap what you sow. Pak had been delibertaley cheating, faking all kinds of stuff to slow over rate. Umpires went screw you cheating paks we playing till you lose:hysterical:

And I am not just saying this cos of today But it really is pathetic feature of cricket. If it is genuinley dark and dangerous were people cant see, then fair enough. But it seems they just go of cos cos a meter reading says something and off they go. They really must make the threshhold higher to go of. Its even more nuts here as the only people in danger are the batsman and they want to stay out there. Paying spectators, big viewing audience. This is the entertainmnet industry To me this is nuts and many a game is ruined by over zealous umpires who seem desperate to put their feet up

It was Graeme Smiths choice he chose to have Morkel, Steyn bowl at body when the light was fading , the 6 overs were nasty and showed they were desperate, we have a brilliant attack and number 1 and 2 bowlers they keep on repeating and then keep on moaning the track is flat, neither WANDERER was flat neither this is as bad as their whining, the thing is they are outplayed and have few answers.

Well rain is one thing but to go off for lights is ridiculous ... I remember Bangalore test vs England back in 2001 or 2002 I guess. It was bad light at Noon. Thats ridiculous especially in India.

Should shut down when its pouring down. But yeah, unlike football the weather plays a huge role.
