Yeah and look what happening to them!! Also they have other fast bowlers. We only have shami. Its a no brainer to me Plus Yadav is good , I dont get his constant exclusion

india let themselves down by playing ashwin ahead of jadeja and someone like ishant or zak ahead of yadav in this test. Both zak and ishant are bowlers who can take wickets during a collapse but yadav can get any batsmen out because of his pace and improved accuracy. Always good to have a geuine quick but india will never realise that

Yet, inspite of being the worst bowling side for outside the subcontinent matches for many decades, we will ,more often than not, play without a genuine quick even when we have one. Shami and Umesh should have been our first two picks in SAF.

Exactly. The pressure was released after the 3 wickets. Field placings became less aggressive. The pacers bowled less bouncers. I don't get it. It should have been the other way round.

Two factors, Shami finished his spell and Zak took over who was largely ineffective. And then SA counterattacked Jadeja for a brief period

@ExpressBowling I agree 100%. How can India not progress and catch on that you need geuine fast bowlers to make things happen. This is why i praise ganguly because he understood that. He didn't just make India a fighting team but brought a culture of appreciating fast bowlers: Zaheer, Nehra, Irfan, balaji and he kept srinath who still bowled with some fire, agarkar. We are the only team to undervalue fast bowlers. A team like AUS would snatch Yadav and groom him, but we bench him and tell him to focus on line and length :wall: @Lord - hell yeah. Shami has picked up wickets and bowled well but he's still inexperienced. Has to be tough to bowl when you have two lame ducks as the other pacers. Zak has been ineffective and ishant sucks. Has height and bounce yet makes no good use of it. If yadav bowled in tandem with shami, i bet shami would be more motivated. Called bowling in partnerships.

But the number of fielders in catching positions were reduced immediately after Kallis came in and the number of bouncers being bowled by Shami became drastically lesser. The pressure being put on SAF reduced drastically.

Frankly for next test v NZ I would go with Shami Aaron Yadav Jadeja 3 proper pace bowlers.

Yes he is 10mph quicker. At least 10mph quicker. Very important factor. Also from what I saw has almost has good control, swings it and does something BK cant which is reverse it. Jeez some still dont learn, yearning for the 78mph bowler. Do you really thionk Kallis and devillies would have been troubled by BK with old ball on flattish track? No they would have gobbled him. Pace mught have troubled them, espcially if coming from bothe ends in tandemn

Zak looked finished after first inning. They persisted with him in 2nd test, but he shouldn't play anymore. Umesh needs to be in the team. He might not be better and may leak runs, but at lease there will not be lack of intensity. When Indian team was in England 2 years back, Wasim was saying how lack of intensity (not necessarily pace) increases confidence of the bowler. Even if a fast medium bowler takes good run-up and bowl with energy, he can do better. That was just missing from Zak.

I would too. Give them a chance to bowl together for a couple of series atleast and develop. Very little chance that they can be anything worse than what we have seen so far.

:hysterical: We are a country which is used to quotas in every sphere. :cantstop: Aaron is a very accurate bowler. Can move the ball too like you said. He has better bouncers than Ishant or Umesh also.

he will improve as he plays more with Indian team. Stamina does not always depend on how young one is, but how used to one is bowling long spells, number of overs. Fast bowlers rarely get to bowl too many overs in our FC cricket and their fitness levels are not as great.
