Is trundler term really abuse. I use that for bowlers who clock sub 80. I afraid once ball becomes old and new ball taken from him' date=' he is very much trundler. Zak was in 135-140 whenever he got reverse in last 4 years. I like BK, I will take him before Ishant and Zak anyday.

Not really. Steyn wasn't doing well in ODIs but was doing well in tests. Nathan Bracken was a top ODI bowler but never did well in tests. Sami has a pretty decent ODI record but sucked in tests. There are several examples like this.

I never said if you do well in ODIs, you do well in tests. I just said if you are not good enough in ODIs, it will be even tougher to pick wickets in tests. In ODIs, batsmen make lots of mistakes and play too many shots. In tests, you have to get a batsman out by bowling consistently for sustained periods of time. It takes a very high level of skill and consistency to be a good test bowler.

I say we need to go back to the glory days of 1st odi v SA. The dream team Mohit and BK opening the bowling. Line and length yes, in fact super accurate. No pace but super accurate. O wait, whole of ICF woke up for a dy and finally realised that trundelrs at top level dont cut it. Up in arms most were saying chuck trundlers and need pace. O how they forget and now calling for the sub 80mph bowlers back!!

Even in English conditions he got carted around didn't he?
