Since winning the World Cup in 2011, India has played 13 Tests overseas – winning one, drawing three, and losing nine – a winning percentage of 7.69%, a drawing percentage of 23.07%, and a losing percentage of 69.23%; in these 13 Tests, Rahul Dravid, who played in 11 of them, scored by far the most runs – 906 at an average of 47.68; Ishant Sharma took by far the most wickets – 42 – having played in all four overseas series – the West Indies, England, Australia, and South Africa. Cant argue with these stats, Dhoni has serious Q mark as far as his batting is concerned. His keeping as well is just about decent which makes it important that he contributes with bat a bit more consistently. As far as selection issues are concerned. Some laughable mentions there, PK has been declared unfit to play in domestic tourney. Mishra after that wonderful WI series got exposed in England, Sreesanth turned out to be a fixer :facepalm: Only selection blunder one can blame Dhoni for is continuously picking Ishant over Yadav.

Dhobi is a poor captain in Tests. His home record is good thanks to pitches that have again begun to offer assistance to spin, and because we have played against the likes of Oz in transition, NZ and WI at home. Time for us to select a new keeper and captain. We need a keeper who is steady and can bat in the top 6. DK is too inconsistent though he has the necessary tools. Pappu Patel has been scoring heavily for a long time, and is another candidate. Saha always gets a lot of criticism but he has a solid FC avg and can't do worse than Dhobi abroad (Dhobi's avg of 24.1 is quite easy to beat). However, I'd like to see Kaul considered - he may be a poor keeper, but he may improve. His FC record as a batsman is impressive, and he seems to be a genuine and patient batsman.

actually that is impressive part he put steyn under pressure and one day 1 it even worked and he batted well too steyn was more angry cos of booing and not picking wickets not what pujara said..what pujara said was reasonable .we are playing with them they cannot bully us if they can talk so can we but on pitch he is always calm and even those interviews were not out of rush of blood but were calculated while kohli can do this

But i dont know why the indian media are raking up our away record. So you go away to the number 1 ranked team and lose 1-0. Its not as if india have ever won before in SA. Dhoni as a player has not been good enough with the bat in tests for India to these big sides. I think somebody else can do a better job.

Can't see people giving Virat respect as a captain. Pujara on the other hand fits the mould well. If Dhoni is being dropped then he should be replaced by Samson. Saha would just be a domestic-level quick fix, whereas Samson is potentially world class and would grow with the team.
