vvvslaxman Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Maybe these older desis are selling the cars to the new desis, because in the last 4-5 years , all my friends/colleagues (atleast 50) who go to the US buy one of these three cars in second hand - Camry, Civic or Accord. :cantstop: But yeah after spending 3-4 years in the US, they upgrade to some other model. Two words they are fixated on "RESALE VALUE" :hysterical:

They dont have many repairs as American or German. The American vehicles are cheaper to fix but german are damn expensive and complicated according to a mechanic I talked. He said the german vehicles have very complicated wiring and sensors very hard to repair it seems. Toyota's will get repair as well but a but rare and one thing he mentioned though is parts for toyota are expensive compared to american cars. Its not only desis but american who used to buy lot of american cars are now buying Japnese cars because of the reliability.

I don't like noisy cars hence Nissan and Honda were out. I was thinking about mazda as well. But didn't want risk at that time also Toyota gave a good deal at that time. This was four years ago. Mitsubishi to be honest apart from lancer in India I haven't see many drive here the only one I saw was eclipse which is a coupe.

My Mazda 3 has a lot of road noise, the very reason my next car will probably wont be a mazda. But its incredibly fun to drive. I love driving my car in a curvy road. I have seen quiet a few Mitusubishi ASX and outlander on the road in UK. Not as much as range rovers, but still one of the SUV's i have seen most here. SUV's are very uncommon in UK.
vvvslaxman Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 If you are worried about road noise. Nissan Altima is a superb drive . I don't feel mazda 5 road noise a big deal. Honda produces more noise. Rent a Nissan Altima and enjoy it :) Fantastic drive.

Smooth ride. Didn't feel a thing.

Am a Corolla guy ... got a 2011 Corolla S manual. I like it, but doesn't have much oomph ... with a wife and 2 kids, who needs oomph? For Oomph, you'd need to move up to the XRS, which they don't seem to make any more. 130 horses ain't gonna cut it. I wouldn't touch a Nissan with a 10-ft. pole. I know nothing about the Fusion, but Fords are the only American cars I would consider - I have a 1995 Ranger with 170K miles and it's solid! Now, with a 35K budget, you have a wide choice. Like many have suggested, go for a tricked out Mazda 3, Mazda 6 or ..... a BMW Cooper Countryman sedan. Skip the base engine and get the S-model or the JohnCooper model. Nearly 200 HP on a little car.

Really nice car. I just bought a 2014 CLA 250 Benz for under $34k (Tax-Title & Lic inc.) Dude If u can spare 35k then u need this car.
