You can put more revs. But it is hard to get there. That is why leggies are a rarity. Off spin anybody can bowl. Vijay, Dhawan, Rohit, Raina they are all offies and they can turn a bit.

I know wrist spinners can get more purchase but there are other consistent finger spinners - even Nathan Lyon gets consistent purchase and good amount of turn.
