CSK Fan Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Not criticizing Kohli as his knock was magnificent but it clearly shows the wisdom of Dhoni approach in chasing waiting as late as possible and going after lesser bowlers when the pressure is on the bowlers . Except in the past, Kohli has shown his approach succeeds every time while chasing even higher scores. This is the only time it didn't work. Kohli's innings in chase succeed more times than Dhoni's. So another lame attempt to defend Dhoni's tactitcs
CoverDrive Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hamilton pitch likely to be little bit spin friendly so don't expect Dhoni to drop Jaddu/Ashwin Raina also will get more chances as usual so only change maybe Ishant dropped for Aaron or Pandey Ideally Rayudu should get a lookin for Raina.

He had this unique strategy to play bouncers : -> On right shoulder, leave. -> On left shoulder, pull or hook. But he was also a compulsive hooker. Got out to that shot many a times. But at least, he used to back himself while playing that shot. While Raina always pulls half-heartedly.

We don't have too much time left before the WC,1 year to be precise so whatever we've to do we should do it quickly.We should play Jadeja as a specialist bowler at no. 8,play Aaron as much as we can,bring in Pujara & Kedar,drop Raina & Ishant & last but not the least test Pandey,Dhawal & Rahul Shukla as back up options for BK,Shami & Aaron.I'll not play Umesh in LOIs & use him in tests.Ishant should be out of the team & play FC along with county if possible.If Ashwin continues to fail I'll bring in Rahul Sharma/Nadeem in the squad to replace him.I think we need a hitter who can bowl 10 overs consistently at no.7 & Rasool/Rishi should get chances there & play according to the condition.
jf1gp_1 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 We anyway use 5 over of parttimers even with 5 bowlers. Can we afford 5 batsman with jadeja and ashwin not contributing with bat? Ashwin, Raina and ishant just have to go; raydu, Aaron come in but not sure who comes in for ashwin binney?
