Historically solid top order batsmen have done well in Australia not sluggers anyway just look at sachin,gambhir and dhoni too use to play at low strike rate... U won't see too many 350 score there so we can afford 1 or 2 really solid batsmen who are reliable

right, yuvi is past his use by date. We should have kartik in place of raina, rayudu for rohit, i dont know what to do abt jadeja ,do we replace him with pathan or aparajit?

Neither Jadeja nor Ashwin is a good No. 7 batsman in ODIs, hence our tail is longer. It worked till now because our top order were doing all the scoring, but now that they're failing (with the exception of Kohli), our weak middle order and longish tail is getting exposed. Had it not been for Kohli who's batting unbelievably well, we would look like a rather average batting side overseas. We need to sort out our middle order woes and get in a batting all-rounder at No. 7.

Wonder if Kedar Jadhav would play well at the international level. If the middle order batsmen continue to play poorly, might be worth a try. Quite possibly the best possible option for the middle order among the domestic circuit who hasn't been tried yet.

Worst case scenario it can happen in a very crucial match with 30 or 40 to win in 5 overs our tail will fold for 25 runs. If top 6 can't score .. lower order 5 can't score. Not true. They can. Has happened so many times. Remember chris cairns assault in the 2000 iCC trophy final.

We would've missed him if he was still playing well. He's not. Our openers were doing a lot more poorly when he was in the team right before he was dropped.

A good start is fantastic but its important that the rest are able to build partnerships and get us over the line
