What are the issues you think team India should address and give your solutions for it.

our bowling sucks.they are incapable of keeping things tight on these flat wickets and these ar the kinds of wickets we will see in the WC' date='i am not sure anything can be done to be honest.to win the WC you have to play consistent cricket in the knockouts and that means our batsmen have to play extra ordinarily to win every game.I wish the WC was played in the SC or England but our goose is cooked for the WC,i just hope we dont lose to the pakis.[/quote'] Totally agree. When only one half of your team is functioning and even then has to play out of its skin in every game just to stay competitive then there is zero chance of winning the WC. The bowling is a complete joke and until that is sorted, and there is no easy solution in sight, then the team will continue to be utterly one dimensional and totally dependent on its batting.

even NZ bowlers gave runs near 300....australian bowlers gave 350 in india then why so much fuss about indian bowlers...batsman not making enough runs...should have chased target in first 3 matches

Seamers have to learn to take wickets up front and also in middle overs. This is the only way you can restrict opposition. If you fail to take wickets, you will chase leather at the end and have to chase 300+ which will always be difficult in these conditions. Same thing while defending. Wickets at regular intervals from seamers is the key. Spinners could chip in and could stop runs but you can't depend on them.

Batsmen have made enough runs. 290 made by NZ in first game was clearly more than par score. There was pace and bounce in the wicket. Chasing such a big score was always going to be difficult as it wouldn't be easy to score runs off 2 bouncers off every over as the bowlers were managing to get steep bounce from the pitch. Still India got to 272. NZ made 272 in 42 overs in 2nd ODI which was another big total which gave us total of 297 at 7 RPO which is almost impossible. India still managed to get more than their total - 277. Third game was a tie. Fair enough bowlers managed to restrict them to a par score because the outfield was very small but it was not a particularly great effort. In fourth ODI, the bowling effort from seamers lacked control or direction and they just leaked easy runs and there was never any pressure on them.

End this no 4 debate..put rohit sharma at no 4.World cup will happen in Aus/nz.Sack dhoni probably for refreshment' date='gambhir or kohli can lead. Raina cant play short ball..zaheer umesh irfan should be back.[/quote'] zaheer and irfan for Odis? Irfan hardly bowls in domestic matches and zak is 35.

India does not know how to defend totals. We depend on batting severely. It is impossible for team to pul up big scores every match. Batting we somehow scratch around and make 270 plus reguarly.

We just need to produce bowlers. After Bhajji and Zaheer khan , none of our bowlers are considered as world class. And even they made their debut in 98 and 2000. So from past 14 years not even a single bowler is produced

Batsman have been chasing almost 300 as pointed out just have been missing the targets due to poor starts, the days of Sehwag scoring 50 off 5 balls with Dravid batting through and UV+Dhoni finishing off have long gone! Its stupid to talk of dropping Dhoni, as a player he is the best finisher of all time, who will replace him DK!? As captain it is too late to bring someone new in for WC15. We still have plenty of time for the bowlers to settle down, a yr before the last wc it was all doom and gloom as well. Umesh, Aaron, Zak, Shami will be a star lineup..one day! I still think we have a good chance of winning it.

Just get rid of all the good batsmen and force Dhoni to defend smallish totals. Eventually he will get it right. It is painful to watch him allow the match to drift in the middle overs match after match. Only when spinners come into play he looks proactive. Otherwise his ideas don't work .

rahane and rayudu need a break. they just got international exposure on a regular basis and its fair to give them time to figure out issues in nonasian conditions. on the pull shots, the percentages were not played correctly today and in the first game. a player has to assess his pulling credentials and his mastery of conditions and play the percentages. the shots today were low percentage. rohit has problems with the singles game.but its like the ganguly's and sidhu's of the past. he has to take strike rate up to 85+ on a regular basis. dhoni was as usual very good in ODI...jadeja is starting to do what io expected of him years ago...but its only a beginning if one more batsman had come to some terms with the conditions,it would have been possible to win a match or two the bowling is very inexperienced.with 1 yr experience, there is not much you can say! one out of ishant or rp singh may be required for the WC.not immediately maybe but they have to be resurrected for the next season..a 36 yr old zaheer will not cut it...

Shammi after taking wickets against a lousy WI team suddenly becomes star and since then he also stunk and long term he is just mediocre bowler, other the seam position he has no other wicket taking attributes but he has shown he also lacks common sense like many of his peers. Bhuvi he was bound to be flash in pan, with his trundling speed which was bound to become slower.Once his opening mantra of picking wickets with opening spell he was going to be useless. Kyle mills proved you can be effective if you bowl with some common sense and use brain with trundling speeds. Varun too early to call. spinners have forgotten how to take wickets, how can anyone win??

basically the bounce undid the batting enough to be around 20-30 runs short. the long term solution is to travel more often especially to Australia. sri lanka for example has been travelling frequently to Australia since the last decade. they fared better vs Australia than we did last time in ODI. west indies used to play every other tri series in Australia in the 80's-90s instead we are playing Australia regularly in india. playing in Australia and SA more frequently would be very good on a long term basis. happy with the look of the team on the batting side.bowling is a long term problem.one can only hope aaron and umesh have better brains!

Huh ? Rayudu has only played 5 ODIs in his entire career and that too in Zimbabwe. As Rahane failed, he should be next in line to be given a few chances to prove himself. He batted well today, consolidated and built a partnership after fall of two early wickets. He could have been selfish and scored a fifty for himself but he went for a big shot to increase the run rate and got out.

Leader and team management needs to be changed. Kohli wouldn't be able to deliver under this coaching staff and Dhoni wouldn't be able to change himself under a new coaching team so if India is serious, they need to change both captain and coaches. Fringe Indian players should be allowed to play English County Cricket and 20/20 leagues in other countries. Selectors should be allowed to pick the squad without any outside interference. India A tours should become more regular.

you misunderstood my point. what I meant was they are finally getting more regular opportunities at international level and during this period, they need time .yes one can say rayudu has not been the run rahane has.I didn't want to write two separate sentences for each of them. but my overall point stands.
