asterix Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 India could have some chance in at least reaching the semis of WC2015 if the captain can be replaced...the current captain is only fit to captain in T20 matches now....
PAA-G Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Sack dhobi n his champu chellas...bring in rasool pujara gauti....make koli kaptaan
JourneyMan Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Jumping around like a grasshopper won't do the trick. Dhoni simply needs to select a bowling unit and stick with it. Today's unit was appropriate, now he should stick with them until WC 2015 and give them that time period to come good. Same with the batting, except I don't think today's lineup was the right one (good that he's testing others though). Pick an XI and give them matches until they play well as a team. Have a couple of backup bowling options, like Ishwar and Umesh, and give them games as well (4th and 5th games of an ODI series). After the WC, take out the players who don't seem to have what it takes and bring in some new faces.
asterix Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Why make Kohli open the batting? Are you nuts? Why change his batting position when he's settled down at #3? Why not open with Rahane? Why blame the bowler when you yourself display brainless captaincy...
Pagalpanti Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Hire a proper bowling coach.. preferably Waqar or Lillee. We need someone to make our bowlers bowl with aggression, atm they seem like deer in front of head lights. Absolutely no idea what to do. Give them 350 and they'll still look clueless on how to defend it.
satishg Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 We need Gambhir and Yuvi back in the scheme of things for ODIs. Yuvi is our best middle order batsman after MSD, yes he has found it difficult after his cancer rehab but if he is fit then i am pretty sure he will come good soon. He is a proven match winner and all he needs is couple of good hits in the middle to get the confidence going. Gambhir can replace Shikhar assuming Shikhar does not do well in the chances he gets. With regards to bowling i definitely think that we need someone like Zak to lead this inexperienced attack. Zak needs to show full fitness and if he does that he can be a very good asset and also mentor Shami/Bhuvi/Yadav very well.
Silva Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 IMO find two good batsman in place of rohit and rahane (gambhir and pujara) where up in this series 4-0.
MCcricket Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 India's problems begin and end with Dhoni and he needs to go, his luck has run out, ridiculous captaincy and logic
rkt.india Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Seamers have to learn to take wickets up front and also in middle overs. This is the only way you can restrict opposition. If you fail to take wickets, you will chase leather at the end and have to chase 300+ which will always be difficult in these conditions. Same thing while defending. Wickets at regular intervals from seamers is the key. Spinners could chip in and could stop runs but you can't depend on them. Seamers are taking a wickets or two up front in every match, but middle overs from 11-25-30 are mostly bowled by spinners who are not getting wickets, bowls a bit economically and think there job is over, but by that time batsmen and set and ready to launch assault. This has been repeated in all 4 matches till now. Even yesterday, after 54 in 7 overs, they 60 odd for 2 in 10 overs and should have been 100 for 4 if spinners had done their job. Their job is not just stopping the runs. You cannot contain or stop batsmen once they are set. We scored 278 from 104/2 in 25 overs.
rkt.india Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Ashwin averaging 190 with an SR of 228, 1 wicket in 4 matches. BK averaging 63, Ishant averaging 59, Aaron averaging 51, and Jadeja averaging 46. We need wickets instinct. Until we get the thought process right, we are going to struggle in ODIs. You cannot thing you will win by containing the batsmen. You can only contain if you pick wickets. Dhoni as captain needs to gets this in his head and his bowlers too.

Magneto Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 a) Kick out Srini b) Ban CSK c) Sack Dhoni d) Keep Rat away from captaincy e) Make ICFers official consultants to the Indian cricket team f) Make Fletcher and the new captain report to the above ICFers g) Let the whole of ICF decide the performance of the above ICFers through monthly polls :good:
Gunner Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 The major issues are Captaincy and Selection. Now is the right time to hand over the captaincy to Virat.
