Yeah flat batting wickets on which your joke batting line could not even reach 170 and our bowlers defended a score of 130 in 20 overs. I know that CT win hurt you, but don't say inane things due to that.
youngindia Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 bounce. there was bounce in the CT final but we did have a spot of bother then. basically the problem is the batsman have no clue how to rotate at 5-6 in an over in the first 25 overs-the toughest phase.they have lacked the right shots and approach the matches have been lost in those ,coupled with the ineffectiveness of the bowlers. the rearguard actions have been good once it eases out but too late to make up for the early damage. I won't say this is necessarily a reflection of the test series.in tests. they can concentrate on optimal shot selection at even 2.6 an over. example-4-0 loss in SA 2006, competitive in the tests,4-1 loss in the windies, won test series. even recently in SA, we fared better in tests.

Anyone saying the pitches were flat subcontinent wkts didn't watch much of the tournament . The only wkt that was subcontinental type was in the final . In fact Jadeja was the only spinner in the top 6 bowlers. Our seamers were the ones doing most of the damage with Ishant taken 11 wkts

The SOLE reason we have failed in NZ (apart from shambolic bowling) is because Sharma has HOGGED time at the top of the order, putting pressure on the rest of the batting order for the entire inning. Plus Dhawan getting out early. We need to be able to score 4.5 rpo with the loss of no (at most, 1) wicket at the end of 10 overs. is this too much to ask??

Lets be honest, i remember us being smashed in NZ in 2002/2003 and then reaching the WC final in SA in 2003.

We speak of a purple patch then, but maybe it's just a case of poor form now. I'm quite confident that Dhawan and Rohit will both return to form.

Suddenly, a highly potent opening pair has become pathetic. This is exposing the weak lower middle order apart from Dhoni. Umesh and Ishant were performing decently and nobody is replicating that now.
