Laaloo Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 it's a joke thread looks like it went over your head
Magneto Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Wasn't really fond of Tiwary in T20 either. A very good ODI bat of what I have seen and obviously a gun fielder! One problem of Indian selection is that all ODI selections happen on the basis of IPL. So the poor guys sweating out in Vijay Hazare and Challenger Trophies will never get their due. Suddenly, our talent pool seems so small despite having a 1000-odd FC cricketers there.
Old guy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 The way he managed the bowler was very good. Would have really liked to see Shami when Afridi was attacking. Missed the trick there by giving it to Jaddu. Good outing for the bowlers, nonetheless. Spinners bowling death have become a norm in Asia now. I think bowling plan was perfect it worked too...selection was good too even Rayadu did well now only thing left iis fitting him in side at number 4 cos he showed today that he can bat under pressure

So the poor guys sweating out in Vijay Hazare and Challenger Trophies will never get their due. Suddenly, our talent pool seems so small despite having a 1000-odd FC cricketers there. Selectors will never get over their stupidity of selecting ODI players for tests and test players for ODIs and ODI players for T20s. Indian selectors dont seem to have any concept of selecting the right players for right formats because they have poor judgement of talent. We had to endure Yuvi and Raina for so many years in tests despite them never being good enough to play the longer format. Similarly, we are seeing players who have List A average in their 30s being selected into national side despite having other players who have done much better. Playing ODIs is just as much as a specialist role as playing tests. You need to be good at rotating strike, finding gaps, putting the bad ball away, building partnerships if you are a batsman and good at bowling yorkers or slower deliveries at the death and restricting runs along with wicket taking ability if you are a bowler.

Would like to see another batsman at 5 who is capable of hitting big shots as he would likely be needed to score quickly during the power play and slog overs and someone who has temperament to be a finisher.

It hitter and in form. Ought try him...he looks like guy who is confident right now and easily chased huge target in ranji against Mumbai and easily smacked bowlers for sixes and fours he is obvious choice or inform Raina at 6 and dhoni at 5

There is no way he will get in if he does not. But he might be sent for an A-tour if things work out for him.
vvvslaxman Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Regardless of his short ball it is always a risky proposition. Even good balls can be hit by someone like Afridi with license to kill. Idea should have been deny Afridi the strike. Giving him 5 balls and 60 meter boundaries and not expecting him to connect atleast one six was too much to ask. I would have personally bowled a full toss. This guy has problems against full tosses. Very often gets out to full toss balls. I think Bhajji did him with a full toss in world cup.
game_changerr Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 ^^low full toss and its not easy to bowl.....u need skilland practise for tat...sir aggy in prime (lol)used to bowl tat with ease

Old guy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 btw he was by far the best batsman in ranjis on average averaged over 80 i think so it wil be hard to ignore him from a tours
Magneto Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 he was in delhi before no ? No clue about IPL this year :dontknow:
Old guy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 No clue about IPL this year :dontknow: U know me I am no expert either..:cantstop: but he will definitely be picked as he had awesome season and is one of rare batsman who has big hitting potential
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 now that some sleep has bought sanity..Much Better played Pakistan. Congratulations. We should not have made more than 220 if not for those **** umpiring decisions. Pakistan were aggressive , brave yet sensible. though both teams can look towards a not so great future.
Old guy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Amit Mishra will be difference between teams today ..wait and watch i was so close :(( he did bowl well
IndianRenegade Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I guess they deserved to win. They Bowled well, were denied the wckts of Ashwin and Jaddu by poor umpiring without those two guys the match wouldn't have been this close. :((
ThePhenomenal1 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 stupid player, dont need him! better fielders and batsmen (manoj tiwary) ready to strike. dont be fooled by his 200, he played good strokes but on that track.. anyone could cash in
veer Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 it looked like pakis were more prepared and ready for this game.. we just looked tired and un-coordinated.. Dhawan/Sharma gave away their wickets.. Rahane still trying to figure out between approaches to take in chases or in setting target.. too slow in rotating strikes KKD was just bad.. and missed stumping costing both games Rayudu was pretty good.. didnt know this side of his game.. I still believe our team is better... just that we werent hungry or executed it correctly Congo to Paks.. see you in T20 wc
