rkt.india Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 even shoiab used to have that grip . but chama did look good today but remember sir ishant had clocked 153 in aus when he was 19 :winky: just to put things in perspective. It depends on individuals how they develop No, I do not think Shoiab had that grip. Ishant bowled 150 even in 2012 but he was a rhythm bowler than an out and quick. He got things clicked for him then.
BlueBee Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Chama Milind Is a left arm pacer. Looks to be around 6'0". or 6'1". He is very skiddy off the surface. Bowled 135 to 140 k consistently. Gets outswing and off cut from a left hander's perspective. Was bowling good length, channel mostly. Quite accurate. Avesh Khan Is a very tall right hander. Could be around 6'4". Was hitting the deck hard and getting steep bounce . Has a West Indian like open chested action. Was bowling 130 to 139 k. Getting outswing consistently. Both are exciting prospects. This is the most interesting under 19 pace attack I have seen. Bot can generate good bounce off the pitch. And Avesh khan could be Indian Morkel
nsareen Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 lets not get ahead of ourselves after just one match. It's heartening to see they have some speed about them, but combined they could take only one wicket. They would need to learn that too to be able to create more impact with their pace... let the tournament complete before making some judgements..
Ultimate_Game Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Hold your horses while anointing them a la padosis. I heard quite a bit a bit about Unadkat and then I watched him in SA bowling pies at 120 kph :giggle:
Debutant Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I really liked the action of Avesh Khan. Nice slinging action and hitting the deck hard. We generally see bowlers like Milind - swing and line. But Avesh is different. Not saying he is good or not but I really liked his action
King Tendulkar Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Very Very inpressive stuff Milind was great bowling often at 86 mph. With good areas and good swing. Could be a real find. Surely will get quicker as gets older. Other lad had wheels as well but less accurate and movement, great prospect as well, bowling 86 mph as well. Just hope by the time they come in have a new skipper who knows how to groom and develop them, instead of trying to wreck them
putrevus Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 These guys are tall and have a better upside than guys like Sandeep Sharma and Passi who we all knew will never be good when playing against seniors.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 These guys are tall and have a better upside than guys like Sandeep Sharma and Passi who we all knew will never be good when playing against seniors. I am actually quite impressed with Sandeep Sharma and would love for him to get a go with Indian team, especially in odis where he can move the ball and take early wkts. I found him to be a better version of Praveen Kumar.
Number Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Left arm pacer with height of 6+ feet and decent pace is gold.:woot: Groom him for future please.
King Tendulkar Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Sandeep sharma is just to slow. Skilled and lovely bowler but at top level they just cant do the business This guy Milind looked very excting. One to follow If bowling 86 mph now, surely in couple of years should be 90 at times? Gets movement as well Cheered me up watching these 2 in action Glad to see at U19 they are getting in bowlers with pace and looking for that U19 selctors should become national selctors:cantstop:

With 2 new balls and his knack of getting early wkts, he can be a great asset in odis. I would love to see him get a shot as our current new ball bowlers give away too many boundaries in the powerplay overs and don't get early wkts either.
express bowling Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Chama Milind combined pace with accuracy . Got movement too. A quick bowler with accuracy is gold. He looked like a bowler who uses his head to an extent. That is a big plus for me. Another thing is, Milind bowled 137 + whenever he bowled. Did not drop his**pace. He has a more settled action which is repeatable.

vvvslaxman Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 More speed does not equal to more quality. come up with better analysis like what hsi stock ball is how he moves the ball around, how he extracts bounce. This is getting tiring Ramesh bowls at 120k Suresh bowls at 125k SO suresh > Ramesh better bowler Ganesh bowls at 130k Suresh bowls at 135k So Ganesh > Suresh better bowler Is this the best we can do?

express bowling Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 At the moment I will take whoever can bowl on the off stump consistently without any short & wide stuff. Chama Milind was doing just that. Bowling good length and channel. Bowling Outswings ball after ball and beating the bat. Was bringing the ball in with seam movement on occasions. Rarely bowled short and wide. Plus, the ball was skidding off the surface. He was not looking like a rookie. Just check out his economy rate today. Dhoni would have liked it.

I want to see what Sharma can do with 2 new balls and his knack of moving the ball & taking early wkts.

Sandeep is too short in my view and with the height at which he releases the ball takes away bounce along with his lack of speed will hurt him, he might be good for odd odis. As test bowler he will come up short, the same thing (lack bounce and speed) is root cause for BK ineffectiveness as a test bowler.
King Tendulkar Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Ishant 129 U19 openers quicker:hysterical:

It's akin to the QB debate in NFL where conventional wisdom is to go for taller QBs and yet you have guys like Drew Brees and Russell Wilson win SBs. If Sharma is performing well and manages to get early wkts, give him a chance to see what he can do. It's not as if we are spoilt for choice and if he can be like what Parveen Kumar was early in his career for us - getting early wkts and swinging the ball - it would solve quite a few problems for us.
