It's akin to the QB debate in NFL where conventional wisdom is to go for taller QBs and yet you have guys like Drew Brees and Russell Wilson win SBs. If Sharma is performing well and manages to get early wkts, give him a chance to see what he can do. It's not as if we are spoilt for choice and if he can be like what Parveen Kumar was early in his career for us - getting early wkts and swinging the ball - it would solve quite a few problems for us. you have QBS like Brees are doing well due to offense their team runs and stadium they play, the moment QB like Brees is taken out of his comfort zone he is not effective like last year without his coach or outside the dome , Wilson needs defense to do his part but he cannot be main course. BK and Sandeep need lot of things to align for them to do their jobs, when guys like Yadav and Pandey who have not been given chances to prove their worth these guys have to wait for their turn.

One to follow If bowling 86 mph now, surely in couple of years should be 90 at times? Gets movement as well Cheered me up watching these 2 in action Glad to see at U19 they are getting in bowlers with pace and looking for that U19 selctors should become national selctors:cantstop: Zak doing the business bowling in same pace atm

My point was conventional wisdom stated shorter QBs couldn't succeed but folks like Brees & Wilson have proven that to be a fallacy. Same with height for a bowler. As long as a bowler can pick wkts, he deserves a chance.

Does he bowl an accurate bouncer? Does he have the stamina to sustain a big tournament ? It's all good by watching one match guys!!!!!' Give him some time to groom up, I've read articles on him, I've seen all his videos prior to this match, he is a natural fast bowler, his mindset is of a fast bowler, but he needs to improve on his asset, develop body, mind and he would be ready, there is absolutely no need to hurry him. All of them require atleast a couple of years, if not more, playing domestics and A tours, to develop themselves. U19 is a talent spotting arena. Also, for checking out temperament. All this excitement in this thread ,and a couple of others, is regarding good talents spotted .... not demands for their immediate inclusion in the national team.

Inswing outswing, setting up batsmen etc will come with the time.

Of course these guys have to learn a lot but I was talking about pace, just pace but nothing else. They can learn all the skills later in their career. We heard so much about their great bowling and stars in the last WC and they ended up 8th :haha: That too in Aus where bowlers ruled the roost and our average bowlers like Passi outbowled their phaast bowlers :giggle:

He just seems a bit unfit to me, hopefully doesn't turn out to be another piyush chawla, he has the variation but just doesn't look fit enough, looks like somebody who would develop a beer tummy in the near future. His running between the wickets was very slow, he couldn't handle his own weight while fielding and twisted his ankle when tried to rush towards the ball, hopefully he works on his fitness.
