rkt.india Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 with the exception of Pathan' date=' no one was drafted into Indian side without playing much domestic......and i think that should continue to be the case......but i would like to see one of these guyz in the world cup next year[/quote'] Pathan was not drafted just from U19. He was playing FC since he was 16 and had played lot of FC matches before debut. None of these pacers have played any FC, neither pacers in last U19 team played any FC before the U19WC.
SLICKR392 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I am talking about WC not 3 or 4 nation pyjama series. Even Eng and NZ have won those mickey mouse series. Wah ! So these series are 'pyjama series' but the recent Indo-Pak last year was the ultimate grand stand according to you. Lol

helperononline Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 why our fast bowlers failed to wins us ? last time trundler Sandeep sharma won us the cup in the final
vvvslaxman Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 why our fast bowlers failed to wins us ? last time trundler Sandeep sharma won us the cup in the final Fast or slow.. 95% of the time skillful bowlers win matches. Good bowlers know how to exploit even the slightest help from the track. Also batsmen are not idiots not to figure out a way to play you. That is where your skill of working a batsman out comes into play. 4 outswinger and an inswinger. 3 short balls and a full ball.. These are some basic tricks . Problem with us is we neither can bowl a decent short ball nor a decent yorker. That is why our bowlers are ineffective. Lack of skills. Sandeep sharma swung the ball both ways with accuracy so he was able to set up batsmen.

Bowlers who combine pace and/ or bounce with Skill win matches over a period of time and in different conditions. Top international batsmen are not beaten by skill at low pace and low bounce. Neither are they beaten by pace without skill. Most pacers who have succeeded at lower pace have or had bounce + skill. There are very few instances of pacers with low pace and low bounce succeeding in international cricket over a period of time and in different conditions.

If these youngsters are quicker than frontline seamers why couldn't they win the match against a much inferior side. Because they lack other skills.

As I said, just pace/bounce or just skill is not enough. You need both at the top level. But, these are kids starting their careers. You start with pace and pick up skills as you play . If you have both then you are fit for international cricket. These guys are not finished products but good raw talent who need to be nurtured.
