NSW they got **** scared of Lee but they won against NSW. PMXI where Symonds scored another ton, and got bowled out for 170 with Ganguly batting at 7. Then the first test Australia was 4/52 before Ponting at No.6 and Tugga ton up. Bloody Warne got 86. Then Ramesh got run out from the boundary batting with Gandhi. Then got rolled for 110 where Fleming nearly got a hat trick if Warne didn't drop Srinath. Then Melbourne, Laxman was opening the batting with Ramesh with Kanitkar batting at 6. Tendulkar got a ton and India got rolled. Then India got rolled again where Blewett and Mark Waugh getting wickets. I remember Brett Lee injured Ramesh. Then other than Laxman, India got rolled again. Langer got a double ton. MSK Prasad was opening with Laxman and Vijay Bharadwaj got injured lol Best tour ever till 2011/12 where that was just funny. Yet Tendulkar got player of the series?

Those were the sweet days of innocence in the 90s when we backed players and had expectations from them even if they were rubbish. Oh along with explosive openers like Prasad/Gandhi we also had Bharadwaj and Sodhi as our All Rounders. Not to forget the deadly bowlers in Harvinder Singh and Debashish Mohanty.

Bharadwaj did enough as a bowler to have deserved a much longer rope. I think he could have become a decent ODI allrounder given his fine fielding and economical bowling.

He is also way too adamant and inflexible to adapt. He mostly sticks to the formula which brought him success in certain conditions. I reckon Gambhir would have made a better test captain but he struggled as a batsman and couldn't score runs to save his life and rightly dropped. absolutely

We had setbacks too but generally won as many games as we lost. During this period, we drew a series 1-1 in Australia in 2003/04, won in England 1-0 in 2007, won a series in West Indies, won a series in New Zealand, drew a series 1-1 in South Africa, won a series in Pakistan. India rightly became the No.1 ranking side in tests. This was majorly because of the brilliance of Sachin, Dravid, Sehwag, Laxman, Ganguly and backed by a potent bowling attack with Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer and supported well by RP Singh in England, Sreesanth in SA. If we have to do well overseas again, the present bunch of batsmen have to equal or better the efforts of Sachin, Dravid, Laxman etc which I honestly believe they have the capacity to do so but the major worry is the bowling. We need at least 3 or 4 world class seamers if we need to do well in Eng, Aus and SA and a spinner who can do well in foreign conditions. We also need a captain who has better strategies, game plan according to the conditions and someone who backs seamers and youngsters.

Some thing is seriously wrong with our cricket, BCCI being the richest board fields the worst overseas team among major nations.[/quote'] 0-8 whitewash was mainly because of terrible batting where they struggled to reach 300 once and bowling was terrible too but the out of form batsmen and over the hill batsmen were replaced and we are seeing better results in batting at least. Our bowling has sucked and they have been repeating the same performance we saw in the past and they are not even getting dropped. This is where we have lost advantage in SA and NZ where we could have won couple of tests.

We can always find that this or that happened due to brilliance of this or that player....but its the captain who is in charge of those...& if he himself always throw the towel....why blame the others. Plus he always always comes & tell his bowlers needs to do more. What abt the freaking batsman including himself. They are never to be blamed. The indian Teat team can only improve if MSD goes out of the team & a new captain...someone like Kohli is given the chance to lead the team.
