Overall it might be Len Hutton's missed chance (I think it was a stumping chance) early in his innings when he was 40 or thereabouts and he went on to score 365. I believe this might be the costliest chance ever.

Sometimes players will make you pay severely.

Agreed. Drops happen. Every team drops catches, though not to the extent we do, but that's no excuse to finish off the game against NZ after having them 5 down. Dropped catches or not this performance was unacceptable.

The bowling is just not good enough to elicit more chances. That's true but it's never a good sign that nearly every lost series has its root in a dropped catch.

I remember once we dropped like 10 catches and yet went on to win the test. In Pakistan, Rawalpindi with bowlers like Balaji and Irfan even with those drops we won.

The bowling is just not good enough to elicit more chances. and when you have a captain who refuses to learn and standing so far back when the bowlers are bowling at 120kph and a spinner who is simply not good enough, you can understand
