As for bowlers who can take wickets abroad , I think practice matches for bowlers plays an equally important role as for batsmen . Am not saying they have bowled well , but they get very little time to adapt to conditions . County cricket played a big part in Zak's evolution as a bowler. He did not have coach or anyone. You have to do a lot of self management. You learn a lot both as a bowler and as person. You gain state of independence and you understand clearly what works for you what doesn't work for you.

The reason why country cricket helps is because you bowl, bowl and well ... bowl. I think you bowl like 500-600 overs in an entire season?

Silva Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I don't know why this is so hard for some Indian fans to grasp but bowling fast is generally considered an important part of being a fast bowler. So as long as we have just 2 bowlers that can consistently bowl 140kph+ consistently they will always be in the running for a spot in the squad as long as they are fit.

Because despite being a "spraygun" and having a relatively poor First class record he's got a strike rate of 32 in ODIs. Heck even a genuine spraygun bowler in Yadav has got test match strike rate of 46, compared to medium pace line and length skill bowler Bhuvenshwar kumar who has a test match strike rate of 70. I am not that crazy about Pace, if we have a a medium pace trundler that can bowl consistently just outside of stump I would pick him but we don't have that. We have defensive minded bowlers like Mohit and Vinney kumar that get exposed. This is why either Yadav or Arron should be able to walk into squad.

He had an off day which was shown by these beamers as ball was not coming out right from the hand. He is not the first bowler to bowl beamers. Best of the bowlers can bowl them under pressure in attempt to the striving too hard and when it is not your day, it only enlightens it more.
