putrevus Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Ganguly declaration is aggressiveness but Dravid declaration is pu$. Dravid made those 91* of 114balls with a SR of ~80. But one can't blame Ganguly for the declaration. Dravid was hit on the ear by a Lee bouncer and required some treatment which may have taken up some valuable time. And here's what happened before Ganguly declared Dravid for 91* in the SCG Test match. Australia were 342/6 at End of Day 3 with Kaitch - 60* and Lee 0*. Lee was out for 0 on Day 4 leaving Australia on 350/7. Our aggressive, tiger, dada captain Ganguly spread the field out for Katich and let bowlers bowl to "tai lenders" like Gillespie who played 113 balls to make 42 runs and Katich went on to make 125 adding a partnership of 117 runs along with Gillespie. And for context, India had made 705 in the 1st innings to the match. The similar thing happened in Pakistan too , Yuvraj got out on fifth ball of the over so instead of waiting for a new batsman to come in and wait for Sachin to make his 200 Dravid declared. If he had waited one more over he would have lost three so I don't mind either of decisions .
Marut Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Ganguly was slightly better than Dhoni as a test captain and as a test player. And Ganguly had more passion to win compared to the saint called Dhoni who knows neither joy nor misery. But there is nothing extraordinary about either Ganguly or Dhoni. Both of them never made the team greater than the sum of its parts, they won when they had a good team and lost when they had a poor team.

Straight Drive Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Ganguly taught us how to win outside India: Harbhajan Singh He's just mocking and trolling Dhoni for his overseas captaincy record.
King Tendulkar Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Ganguly taught us how to win outside India: Harbhajan Singh He's just mocking and trolling Dhoni for his overseas captaincy record. Justifiably mocking him. About time someone did
